TIMING BELTS ? CAMBELT ?
Hi.. I got some questions...
- please tell me what the difference is between a TIMING BELT and a CAMBELT ????
- which one do I need to replace at 100,000 kms for my civic ?
- I'm on at 140,000 kms.. am I in any danger of snapping the cambelt/timing belt ?
- A rough idea on how much it will cost me to get it replaced? Also, any suggestions to which mechanic in auckland to get this done cheap?

just to get technical.
The term timing belt can be used to describe the belt driving the cams, or a diesel injector pump on diesels that dont have belt driven cams.
The term cambelt obviously only refers to a belt driving cams!

cambelt/timing belt same thing on your civic.
get it done, should have been done @ 100ks, but if there is no history of it being done, then get it done. It isn't that costly, better safe than sorry.
