E.K Engine Check Light (Post Mods)

    Just modded the Civic.
Got Mark at Beyond (Avondale) to get TRR headers and a full system and exhaust done (MINT JOB)
Anyhow, just after that tonight would be the fourth time the engine check light would come on.
Usually I would just chuck it in neutral, turn engine off, and start it up again (lol, either stopped or moving) and it would go away.
A day ago I got my MSD cap and coil installed and it has done it twice since that. But it had done it twice before that just after i got the exhaust done.

I had put the car up on the hoist today and noticed, there was no 02 sensor (just been unclipped and taken) and also the cat temp sensor was gone + the negative wire from it too.

The cat light has been on ever since but i dont take notice of that. and from what ive thought and been told, that having them unclipped would just make the car run rich while cold, then turn to a closed loop when running normally. (the light comes on when im not thrashing it)

    Hah, there are no sensors.
o2 sensor (sposed to be front of headers) has been unclipped and not there

cat sensor, negative wire and sensor gone.

gonna check the ecu later....does it have to have the light on to be able to check it or is it stored

Yeh it will do that. Either way u mist run a 02 sensor, (so ur saying exhaust gas is leaking out the hole)
and you must earth the cat wire or else that will light up too

    They sound like complete muntas!

You definatly need the O2 sensor - its used at cruise to keep the fuel/air ratio at the optimum - other wise you will be running rich and using shit loads of fuel (and can lead to bore wash after a while)..

The ecu light wont come on when thrashing it as the ecu ignores the O2 sensor when at WOT (since u dont really need it with the pedal to the metal)... But lights up under cruise cause its trying to read what level the exhaust gas is so it can adjust the fuel but it aint there...

Take in back and get it installed from them - they shouldnt have taken it out, or they should have transfered it to the new exhaust.

All the cat sensor does is light up the light if the cat gets too hot, it ain't connected to anything important. Just earth the wire to get rid of the annoying lighty.

The o2 sensor is a different matter, you need that.
