Final drive kits are a tad over-hyped IMO. Great for high output N/A racecars, matched to custom gearsets, when your powerband is focused narrowly right up top. And each up shift you can't sacrifice dropping below 8000000 rpm.
The sacrifice in drivability, and the sheer annoyance of having to do 4500+ rpm in 5th is enough to put me off them for road cars. (Free flow exhaust, removed interior trim, and sound deadening make for a painfully noisy commute)
Boost + longer 2nd / 3rd ratios so you can appreciate mid-range torque and 'pull' would be more 'fun' for a road car IMO, rather than having to constantly row the gearbox to get anywhere.

^ take a factory turbo such as a silvia...
2nd gear can get to round 100k/s an hour and it starts pulling from about 35-40kph...
turbo+longer gear ratios=lots of fun in a street car without horrid noise from 4500rpm @ 100k's.
want big power? go turbo or buy a turbo, a well tuned f.i setup would last just as
long if not longer than something reving to the moon all the time
+it WILL be cheaper
+ it WILL have more low down torque which is what you want for a street car.. just my 2c's worth btw
and of course if you intend to track it na would be just as cool.. what are your goals for the car,
thats the inmportant question. no point spending big money on power if you want to go round the track![]()
