in all seriousness leave earlier.
i drive from mangere to devonport in the morning and leave at 7am and the 27km trip takes 30-35 mins. if i were to leave at 730am it would take 40-50 mins. i was doing a course in ponsonby a few weeks ago and leaving at 730 would get me there in 30 mins, its only 14km.
everyone leaves around 730 for work.
even if you take the south weatern you are still gonna get pawned in avondale/new lynn
couldnt have an uber serious post

Catch a pidgy, at level 36 it will evolve into a pidgeot. Teach it fly. Hitch a ride.

Too much to pay for and save for!
see for me public transport sucks
One way $12.60 and 1hr 30mins and i would leave at 610 and get to work at 740 and still have to walk about a km when i got to work.
the problem i have is the wife works by the airport i work in devonport. its easier for me to go Mangere to devonport every day than it is for her to go north shore to airport. and most first home buyers cant afford a place anywhere near the central city
I see I see - costs me $4.05 one way, parking in town alone costs more than that (cheapest place near where I work is $11) along with it being consistently quicker than driving and the walk is exactly the same I have no reason not to catch it.
Guess I can't talk about owning my own place or anything about that - I still flat (*cough*) with my parents >_>
I've been internalising a really complicated situation in my head.
its funny they preach and preach about using public transport but the problem is people cant afford to live near where they work and alot of people have cross town commutes to get to work. if i could get to work in less than an hour on public transport and it be of similar cost to driving i would catch it.
I estimate its costing me about 30c a km in the car and that includes everything. but you cant put a price on the extra 1 and a half hours i get from driving
Oh no doubt, and the crazy thing is the whole thing isn't ready. I'm parking on Constellation Drive by Gilmours at about 9am - the entire car park, Parkway Dr and the surrounding areas/roads are all full with cars. I'm just really lucky with living so close to Constellation, if I didn't I probably wouldn't catch the bus anywhere.
