not funny. there are actually 100's of couples out there that are allready "separated" and it is over, the love has gone and they are only together because of financial ties and cannot afford the legal side of things and i am sure they would have been stoked to win a divorce.

personally i just think the feminists out there are still bitter about the whole win a bride competition last year.

If you don't like the Rock, don't listen to it!

Random feminist bullshit spouted from their mouths had nothing to do with divorces.

was quite lol but to me it reeks of being staged.

All the legal team and bosses would have known it would cost them a fortune in complaints and dramas etc, rather than pull the stunt, which would silly on their part, just go ahead with it and make it backfire, so as not to loose face.

    Dastardly lesbians lol

I know a DJ @ ZM who shall remain nameless. Sooooo much radio is staged, setup, pre-recorded. I never believe half the shit I hear on the radio.

one of the main reasons I'm loyal to bFM... And yes, I realise they do it a little also, but no where near the extent of the Radio Network brigade

LOL only just heard it now. Still waiting to hear the full raw audio and talk to someone at The Rock.

I can however say the comp was legit. I spoke with someone within the promo team at Radioworks and they were discusted with it and it had created quite a stir within the company - even the sister station Radiolive was talking about it in quite a negative manner!

But thats what The Rock and its listeners are all about. It pisses off the people that dont listen to The Rock and that seems to make The Rocks core listners like the station even more! Its the whole anti PR feel that alot of kiwi's dont give a shit about these days.

Regarding the actual call. I've got no idea if it is legit or not and to be honest it could be either. At the end of the day though its been a great promo for The Rock as its been all over the media - TV/Paper/Websites/FB/etc, before and after the actual call. Nothing but win IMO and was a great stunt for The Rock .

Dont forget the drama that happened last year with the 'win a wife' competition .

Relax aye? It was only a $500 prize.

Besides it was NEVER designed to go a couple that would be 'stoked' to win a divorce - this aint the Classic Hits 'win a wish' feel good Disney happy ending!

Frankly The Rock audience (myself and I know others included) dont give a shit if a couple that have wanted to get a divorce for ages finally win one - BOORING and its not going to make the news!

What people want to hear is some dude that is sick of his bitch of a wife ring up and break it to her over the phone and have it filled with swearing, crying and abuse. OR the unexpected dyk drama .

    BWAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Sabotage the relationship? If they are going to divorce then it's going to happen, the competition doesn't put a gun to someone's head to make them break up. We all should go to church, wear non offensive T-shirts and only do approved recreational activities. A relationship that could be ended by a radio competition is bound to fail either cause one is the biggest halfwit moron attention seeker on earth that would throw it away for 15 minutes of fame or because they simply couldn't resolve their problems.

I wonder if they were hot lesbians? Reality is probably different to what's in my head.

I think if its legit through and through its real poor taste.

I did have a chuckle when I heard the lesbians bushwhacked them. The main part of it that I disagree with is encouraging people to tell their partner without prior discussion on the matter that they want to divorce them, thats incredibly harsh - that does actual harm.... the fact its legal doesn't make it at all ethical. Of course its up to the individual if they are actually going to do it, but still - by enabling it they are making a statement about what they consider entertainment value. WAY too far, imho.

Amber (the husband) did NOT sound hot. The other one could have been though.

Re: The Rock - Win a divorce

Think of it like this. You sleep with a woman one night and do a terrible job of it.

    Do you want her to:
    a) Tell you the next morning that you suck in bed so only the two of you know, or
    b) Ring the most popular radio station around and then tell you, live on air, that you suck in bed so everyone listening knows.

I think they've pushed the boat out a bit far on this one, I was hoping it would be simliar to last year's "Win a Wife" competition where the hype was much greater than the actual prize event in order to aggravate the wowsers (which the certainly did). I was trying to figure out how it could turn out to be not as harsh as it sounded ("Divorce your spouse live on air!") and thought maybe there was a twist I was missing.

I can only hope the whole thing was just a ratings stunt otherwise they ran the risk of seriously ruining someone's life - ironically it would be the person who won, since everyone would think they're a prize douche.

And in that is a reason I don't think it's totally wrong. Because if they really are that retarded not to realize how stupid what they are doing is then the whole country is going to find out and think they're an ass. Ultimately you can't "hide" a divorce, going to a radio station to do it just proves you are a bubblehead. Giving someone the means the do it doesn't necessitate they do it, you'd have to be a real winner to do it that way.

It's like saying other women are set up as some trap to demoralize and break the feelings of your partner. How dare those bitches offer the incentive of sex! Or it just could be that you're douchebag enough to do that and probably look like an ass when it comes crashing down. Personally I'd just outright say someone isn't offering me enough and I'm prepared to look elsewhere before just banging a slut. If they want to fix things they have the chance, if they don't then I can go bang the slut anyway because obviously there is a dysfunction in there somewhere. If you fail to think out such significant actions then you're going to fuck up monumentally at some stage anyway, in a public arena like radio you just happen to have a large audience laughing at you
