Yeah I had looked at them, but its too hackish for my liking. Rather a properly made one for a game like this.

You can get an adapter for the G27, but I have heard they are rubbish. XCM make them I believe. I do find it a little odd that Logitech haven't delivered anything for Forza, it has enough of a following.

Logitech wont do Anything for XBOX as they dont wanna jeopardize the relationship they have with Sony. they havent made any xbox accessories since PS3 launched at least

That would make sense. Would at least be good to see someone apart from Fanatec step up and make a decent wheel that doesn't feel like a fucking Fisher Price toy though. All the others feel poorly made, too light, or unresponsive (particularly belt drive wheels).

One thing that has been annoying me is that vehicle damage still isn't realistic enough. You can plow into a wall at 300km/h and it'll stuff your steering and engine, but the body is only a bit bent up (which looks pretty shitty on it's own, it takes a lot to actually dent things, it just tends to look scuffed up most of the time). Heavily damaged cars don't leave oil trails or mechanical parts, or even decent black clouds of smoke - just the usual white trail that doesn't really affect visibility of trailing drivers.

I was doing a race and damaged the engine, car was down on power and missing at higher rpm which seems like a new feature. Not much of a smoke trail though, your right.

Its been like that since forza 2.

I have noticed that the damage models now include dents, i.e you can stave in the front end, or just one side of it, or just the middle etc. I have noticed in some drift races that i get dented up rear bumpers and quater panels, doors etc can also be dented.

Still not complete damage models but definitly better than forza 3 which just had scrape marks.

I remember the old Toca touring car games on the PS1, if you ate the proverbial S$#t on them, youd have wheels flying of the car, the car would look absolutley demo'd, smoke for africa etc. I imagine the reason its not as detailed on the likes of FM4 is because of the sheer amount of car models, and the fact that when you combine them with different bumpers and paintjobs etc there is tons of combinations they would have to account for

Paint colour doesn't matter so much since it would just be using a wire frame then add the textures and color dynamically.
But IMO they do have quite a bit of detail such as every car has different engines when the bonnet pops off, even shows the right engine when your done swaps.
But higher amounts of damage would be good.

^^ TOCA 1 & 2 were fantastic games in their day IMO.

Finally off to pick myself up a copy of Forza 4. $79.00 from Dick Smiths. Can't go wrong.

Haven't hit this game as hard as I ought ot have...

But should be having a good burn this week, keen for some online racing (not drifting, I suck at drifting).

Fav car so far = SC300/Soarer with NA V8 conversion.
