Going to the game this Saturday at Eden Park. Going to be a cracker I think so long as we don't have bloody Alain Rolland reffing it again, last weekends game was so stop start it wasn't even funny!
Picking the AB's to just smash everyone.
Speaking of Rugby
Blues new Coaching team announced
Sir John Kirwan - Attack (Head coach)
Sir Graham Henry - Technical advisor and defensive Co-ordinator
Mick Byrne - Forwards and kicking
Grant Doorey - Skills and backline coach
I think personally these guys should whip the blues up a bit!
Yea absolutely! Blues for 2013 title, you saw it here first
Agree... looks good for Blues in 2013.. have heard that before though. will wait for the first 6 rounds to go by.
BUT.. does look promising!

nuff said really....Sir Graham Henry
I mean it is as much about the players but its a pretty winning combo.
And with no SBW at the cheifs camp....
i cant see the sir's achieving anything any other coach would have
if the all blacks lost the final (which they should have) he would have been hated not loved world wide like he is now
The media would have hung him yes....But I would not have been disappointed in him. (Though I would have been all round generally gutted)
His record is pretty damn awesome and There is no question in my mind that up until the final game of that world cup we had played better and dominated the entire competition without exception.....The fact we held out to win by 1 point with a very very battered team is testament to Graeme Henry AND all members of that world cup squad.
Well shoulda coulda really. No use speculating on what could have been, the results speak for themselves really.
Im not saying its going to be a walk in the park, but to be fair a good step in the right direction for the blues for sure. I personally dont think they will win it next year, but all they need to do is look like a team again, and post results that are worthy of the huge talent that they hold in the side.
yea they would be much better off coaching the Feilding High School first 15![]()
Result's would be made, if that were the case
How the hell is there 15 people in fielding!
you'd be surprised! FTP fielding's the place haha
but i don't think much will change with the blue's. In saying that wasn't it Sir Graham Henry that couched them in the 02-03 season before going to wale's?
some of the best rugby i seen in 2003
I this he is an asset purely because he has an eye for talent. I think if Ted is doing a bit of spotting for the Auckland boys we might see a few more hard nose talents coming through from Auckland local top grade. As a guy who hates Auckland Rugby (I'm petty) I think they have really lacked a few decent hard nose forwards for many years now.
Woodcock looked very lonely there when he wasnt injured and Kaino only really had 1 maybe 2 very good consistent seasons. And when he was there and playing that hard nose style that made him a very good AB Auckland was a bit of a force again.
Long story short, I think Ted will fix to much flash not enough substance. Plus he can pull the big finger at people higher up than him not doing the job!
Ted has been there and done it all. He's won and he's lost. His coaching record with most teams he's been a part of is second to none.
You can't buy the respect of your players or experience. He has both of those on his side. I think the Blues will go far next season, there's plenty of talent just not enough direction (a bit like the Warriors).
Personally I'd love to see a few Blues players like Rene Ranger get a bit more refined under Henry's direction. I think Henry simmers the natural talent down a bit and gets the players focusing a bit more. Just look how far Mealamu or especially Nonu have come over the years. This is also an age thing, but when he first came on the scene the guy was half the player he is now.
2013 is going to be a great season!
could today be manawatu's day! i hope so
