No offence to the girl, but (and this is one thing that pisses me off) she shouldn't be in the position where you don't have $50 to call on in an emergency. So many people are ticked up to the eyeballs in life, or so bad at saving that one little situation can screw them over. Anyone with half a brain should have some money for a rainy day. Even if you're only on the benefit, don't buy a box of Woodies this week and put the $20 aside to save.

Just pickup the package then claim its stolen, they have to pay the replacement because you didn't sign.

In the pocket = the only way it gets to them.

Hate to say it, but this.
Even though we have insurance for shit going missing/broken, there is absolutely no reason why the courier cannot do a card left. Apart from the fact they dont get paid for the redelivery (unlike my lot) its just pure laziness on their part and in breach of their contract to sign for packages.

I'm not sure what the deal with that is, if there's a premium paid.

I do know that we have been doing what feels like more of this kind of work recently. Sometimes they are houses up ridiculous amounts of stairs or tucked away from the roadside. The Courierpost contractor for whatever reason, returns the item to the depot and we get the job instead. It is on the understanding that if it can't be signed, it's returned.

Workshop manuals that are competely wrong. Took the rear bumper off the Commodore last night and couldn't find two bolts in the boot that apparently I had to undo. That's because there weren't any fixings in the boot that had anything to do with the bumper. I ended up resorting to the "pull on it and see where it's stuck then find what's holding it there" technique. I encountered the same thing when removing 10 bolts from the intake manifold, as per the manual, only to find the manifold was so heavy because it was still held to the heads by the other 2 bolts they neglected to mention.

Haynes manuals, you suck balls. I've now decided you're a "this is the general theory and you can work it out yourself" manual rather than a "step by step" manual.

    Maybe.

Packed up and walked out of my job tonight, first time I've done that in 14 years in the industry. Shit just gets to a point where you can't handle it. If I didn't walk, I'd have actually lost my temper and done something stupid.

    Gotta love that.
Pick it up, go to street address, 200000000 steps up to the house.... Yep the courier couldn't be fucked doing it and would rather pay us $xx to do those stairs instead. Cunts.

Also re: the extra paid for sigs.
With NZC all you have to do to get a signature required/card left on your item you're sending is to tick the SIGNATURE REQUIRED box on the item, no extra costs involved.

AHH I know that feel bro. $402 later, what makes it worse is another company I bought some stuff off of the same value put the invoice amount as $200 so it got through for free. Should have asked company A to do that!!.

Oh, and people on their high horses, thinking they're so much better than others and that they're entitled to broadcast the fact because of their own opinions of themselves, and without knowing the situations of others. Makes you look like a douche to pretty much everyone else.

But still, you'd assume that requesting either one of those would actually mean that:

    A) The item is taken back to the depot with the courier and a card left.
    or
    B) The item is taken back to the depot because nobody was home to sign for the parcel.

If you are expecting to send or receive an expensive parcel, and out of natural concern don't want it left at your door when nobody is home, then I'm sure you'd prefer this to be the case. However, when you do request such a delivery and the fucking courier takes it upon themselves to just leave it there in plain view of Hemi who prowls around the neighborhood during the day knowing that lazy couriers sign packages for themselves when others are at work... I think you'd be a bit pissed off.

^That is exactly the reason why whenever I buy anything expensive or electronic I ALWAYS pick it up from their physical shop. Just saves a whole lot of hassle in case something does go wrong and everyone is playing the blame game.

Jury duty. Biggest waste of time piece of fucking bullshit. They called it off and I landed up with the letter telling me this AFTER the date I had to go, this was just a few days before it was all due and I'd only checked the weekend before like they had asked. When I turned up the office retard didn't tell me it was called off either, they just told me to wait outside one of the courtrooms. When I had finally had enough and had figured out something was really messed up/wrong I waited in line with the fine payers for 10 minutes to talk to someone else. So they tell me it was called off, tell me off for being late (been here for over an hour you twat) then they said someone was there to tell us it wasn't going ahead (lol no) so my sight and ears are questionable apparently.

Plus it was full of scumbags that smelled like ass which gave me a headache. What a waste of time, no wonder there is a stereotype of our court system. If you want me there at least have the courtesy to inform me of the basics especially when you had about 2 months to sort this out from the time you called me. Now they won't email me back either, so not only were you shit in communicating in person and by letter but now by computer. Do I have to walk in and assault someone to get decent treatment from them? Cause I really do wonder, I'll try that next time I'm there I think.

fri night got a noise control guy come over and give me a warning , i was sweet as turned it down to a level he said was fine , just over an hour later have another one turn up with 5 cops after the music had been turned off for 10-15 mins and we were going to bed demanding that i surrender my gear to them , gave them my faulty laptop (cracked as screen and no battery ) and said " so it takes 5 cops to storm a quiet house and take a laptop ?" and the look on a few of the cops faces was just like yeah ummmm this is stupid
