    Making music

    Holla back
So, how does one get into making electronic music: primarily probably D&B
I've got myself FL Studio 10 & Reason and am looking at a MIDI keyboard but aside from that, I don't really know. You type into Google "How to make DnB" and they say get these things but that's about it. Synth a drum sequence and you're half-way there. How do I do that?
    How do I do everything?
I come up with these WICKED (Well, at least I think they are) song ideas in my head but you know, can't produce them
    Anyone can help?
    Chur.

    Re: Making music

yeah man install the plug ins on to fl studio and a midi keyboard you should be sweet
good vst's for drum and bass should probably be already installed into the fl studio programme its self cant really remember but sawer and hypersonic are good

if your fairly new to FL studio i suggest youtube would be your best freind for tutorials on the basics to the advance in music production

Making DnB is easy. Making good DnB is an art form. I used to live with a DJ, and he worked on his music at least 40 to 50 hours a week...And he was just a crappy house DJ who did remixes etc! With DnB you pretty much have to start from scratch...and it takes ALOT of patience even to get a couple of seconds flowing right, let alone an entire song. If you stick with it im sure you will do alright bro! Good luck.

    Re: Making music

Back at highschool I made a couple of house tracks. Used Sibelius to produce a melody that could be exported to MIDI (because I didn't have a keyboard), chopped up some shitty MP3 samples and got some off forums, and then threw it in FL Studio.

So, you don't need a keyboard... but it'd help.

They're all long gone now man, haha. Don't even have a computer running Windows, let alone any production software. There are sample packs that float around "certain corners" of the internet.

The program I used to make samples was Goldwave Pro. Can pretty accurately chop up MP3's.

    Yus.

I wouldn't mind having a shot at it again sometime. Played around with FL Studio at my mates a couple of weeks ago... just finding the time to invest into it is another thing. Different story when you are a student studying music.
