    Advance task killer /problems.

Mine wouldnt last a day before I installed it (free) and now its waaaay better.
As for phones for your Mrs Mr Shine, Everyone will cry/wank because i said it but huawei make badass phones for good price.

I use an older version which has given me no greif and Zombine has just got the new one with the extra bits mine does not have (plus bigger screen) and its awesome....hopefully he'll pipe up with a review.

    edit*

    Heres one however

I think Zombine paid under 300 for his though...

    Re: Cellphone Discussion Thread

There is no need for advanced task killer, applications should automatically close themselves off after being idle for a certain time - unless they are a background app. It's how Android is designed to operate... you know, proper multi-tasking, not some iOS piss-poor excuse for it. If you have to stop it then just browse to the application details (settings > applications > view all) and use 'force stop'. If an app automatically stops itself, then you shoudl leave it to gracefully stop. Facebook doesn't automatically kill itself off for me, and it chews through battery even without sync, so once I am done with it I have to manually kill it.

Regardless, the issues with space running out in the Desire are not an issue on the Sensation for the reason I mentioned... The Desire just didn't have enough internal space for the OS plus apps.

Even 1gb of internal is OK. Biggest problem on my Desire is that I've only got around 30meg of internal memory spare (often less if I'm storing MMS or large text threads). When you DL apps, they have to save first on the phone before being able to xfer to SD card. So if the phone's internal memory is full, you can't download the app

All I know is I had shit battery life and then I installed ATK and it was sweet.

100 x easier than manually shutting down as well.

Finally bit the bullet and rooted (lol) my Galaxy S with the SpeedMod kernel and Cyanogenmod 7.1 ROM. Thoroughly glad I did, it's like a whole new phone. Would definitely recommend it to anyone with a SGS.

firstly im sure theyre jot much more than that brand new, secondly the fact that it doesnt work on vodafone makes me think it has been blacklisted (stolen) as it works on other providers.

as for the 3gs working overseas, as long as it is unlocked then it should be fine for 2g pretty much anywhere but may not get very good 3g in a lot of places. i recommend if you must have an iphone then try to get a 4, but i thought you had a high end android phone anyway?

Yeah even telecom only charges 589 for a brand new one, and they aren't well known for being the cheapest so would shop around.

screen is pretty average but otherwise is good. toughness is fantastic, we had a store one which was really put through its paces.

i would be inclined to root it and remove a lot of the factory apps.

It's an interesting idea, nice to see a change from the usual phones or tablets. It's pretty cool that you can use the stylus as a wireless headset when getting a call with the phone in the tab.

Didn't think there were any official images of the S III yet? Kind of disappointed they'll most likely be running with the quad-core 4212 chipset when the dual-core 5250 chipset is miles better. But I guess time constraints are working against them to get the 5250 into the phones in time for a Q1 reveal.

Surprised no one has posted this up yet: http://www.htc.com/nz/smartphones/?i...|mwc|learnmore

Pretty standard HTC look, pretty standard hardware upgrade, however, I'm going slightly sour on HTC. It's not because of their devices being shit, it's because I want them to be more open with the dev community so we can get better firmware quicker. I don't understand their logic, bigger dev community = sell more devices, but meh. I'll be purchasing pure Google for my next device...
