this is intended to tide me over a wof situation/I dont own any legal modes of transport currently!

where this leads I do not know

other rides are Subaru GTB (Gen II Twin Turbo 230,000 kms on OEM motor) and a Hillman Avenger (Rally caged : My 'fun' car)

    Re: strange new land

Welcome, What a mint buy, Those cars are highly underrated.

The chassis code will be cb something, not sure what number.

You got one of the later models of this car with the 2.2l engine. Your engine code will be f22a and it has alot of bits that can be swapped onto it to make it faster. Namely you can put a dohc vtec h22a head on it if you are that way inclined and it will bolt up and run no problems with a prelude ecu.
Also its almost a bolt up job to swap a manual gearbox etc on so you could make it manual for fairly cheap if you are also that way inclined but I doubt you will be with it being a daily car.

Just chuck 91 in it and it will run sweet. You might get abit more out of the 95 but it would hardly be noticable.

    PCD will be 4x114.3.

Wouldnt be too hard to bolt wrx seats into it. Just have to make some custom mounts.

Id just look at doing the usual oil flush/new oil filter/trans fluid and enjoy it.

Who knows you might like it. :p

    Re: strange new land

The oil that is leaking, kinda down the engine and looks like it is coming from between the head and the block on the engine....its normal, was kinda factory fitted to start after 100,000 kms.

Great cars though, the auto trans (like most honda autos) are pretty mud but if you just cruise will be sweet.

    Re: strange new land

I cant see one, but aside from Zombines UBER MINT nana one (or other uber mint nana ones) , all of them over 100,000 kms have it

    *edit*

you can see the headalloy is very dark though which gives a slight hint.

But its not like a LEAK.....its just seepage (seepage is a leak if you want to be pedantic, its just not leaking at a rate to be concerned about), I never checked the oil in mine until I went to sell it and it was fine.

    Re: strange new land

If its on the headalloy then it would more than likely be rocker cover gasket or if its a dohc a cam seal.

    Re: strange new land

no shit , I would be sure the oil would be on the block as well...I've owned a few of them.....anyway the head would be attributed to either as you mentioned a leaky rocker cover gasket OR/AND the slant of the engine vs wind coming up into the bay from under the car.

I never bothered to confirm if any of mine were leaking from the head or wherever but noted that there always seemed to be thicker heavier poo around the join of the head and the block whereas the rocker cover seemed to be pretty sweet.

    /cool story

    welcome to NZH dude.

haha right may have to crack the bonnet open and see if Honda stole Subaru's Continuous Rust Protection System also (CARS for short)

Cam seals need doing on the white wagon : and as such that means 2x the amount of work

Avenger is way more interesting and now sports twin delloto's and 90Hp at the rear hubs

sharp eyes may have spotted it in the OldSchol National's write up last year skidding around Tui Brewery

also seen some track time sporting TRC slicks and wheel lifting antics

keeps up with a MX5 around Taupo just fine

Old School Trackday - On Board With JoKer - YouTube

Accord updates to follow (if any)

like to keep it auto : have only tried for the clutch pedal once since I picking it up so far, doubt any go fast bits will creep into engine bay at all : I'd rather be procrastinating
