    Manila, Philippines

    Hello NZH,

I am Francis from Manila, Philippines. I just registered to check out the JDM and Honda scene in New Zealand. I have a couple of friends already in Auckland and my wife and my 2 kids are already planning to migrate to New Zealand hopefully by 2012. We've heard a lot of good things there.

I hope this post will be okay and I will be visiting the forums regularly.

My current toy is a 2007 Honda Civic FD 1.8S (R18) and here are a couple of old pictures. I have done minor changes like the black grill but will update my pictures when I get the chance.

    On 18's Rota Fighter 10

On 18's Bronze Volk Racing TE37

    Other pictures

Here are some of my old toys - 2003 Honda Fit Aria GD and a 2004 Honda Civic ES 2.0 (K20)

GD on 16's Volk Racing TE37 (F-Zero Blue)

ES on 17's Buddy Club P1

ES on 17's Bronze Volk Racing TE37

Had also the chance to drive a Honda NSX (pictures with my 2 boys)

My friends and I are all Volk Racing Wheel Whores here in Manila. Here are a couple of pictures but will post more soon.

    Re: Manila, Philippines

    Thank you for the welcome!

There are a lot of clean Honda’s in Manila. Not just Honda but JDM cars in general. I am not active in the car scene here in Manila anymore I am just doing this because this is my passion since I was a teenager but now that I am already 34 with 2 boys I am just enjoying this hobby with a small group of friends. We share a common passion for JDM cars.

I am also a long time forumer in Honda Club Philippines but not a bonafide member. I do know a lot of the official members, though. I am a bonafide member of the Jazz and City United/ GD United here in Manila, which is a group of GD and GE Honda Fit owners. My username in the local car scene forums in the Philippines is kas and you would see my posts mostly on JDM Wheels thread.

We are still processing our application in NZ and we are hoping to transfer there before the end of 2012. We were told that NZ is an ideal place to raise a family and we really look forward to migrating there.

The NSX I posted was 1 of the first released globally. It is not power steering yet. It is a US version 3.0 DOHC VTEC V6, 5 speed. The owner of the NSX now is somewhere in the North of the Philippines.

Thanks for all your replies. Sorry for the long post!

    Re: Manila, Philippines

I have already posted a reply a couple of hours ago but still waiting for the moderators to approve it.

Here are a couple of videos from the Philippines car scene. Please do take note that I am only sharing this meaning I might not know the people involved but will give credit to the contributor.

Video from hazardboy of HCP (Honda Club Philippines) and JDMU (JDM Underground)-Circuit Showdown in Clark International Speedway-
    YouTube - ‪Circuit Showdown 2nd rd 04/02/11 CIS‬‏

    Video from Emperor Motorsports Philippines
    YouTube - ‪Emperor Motorsports Philippines‬‏

Video from Ian King’s/ Wreckless Inc. group also here in the Philippines. –Track Day at Clark International Speedway-
Forcedspeed/Fixstop Clark Track Day on Vimeo

They have other videos also please check it out. Enjoy!

Regarding migrating to NZ I think our city of choice is Auckland since that’s the only place where we know someone. (my wife’s cousin and a co-worker)

By the way, are the cars there left-hand drive or right-hand?

i think nz is one of the top ten in the world where its best to raise your family. surely ull enjoy here. welcome brad!

theas just lots of rules regarding mods in cars unlike in us thea in phily, u can have the loudest, lowest, darkest tint you can have. lolz. theres CERT for a certain modifications like adjustable springs/shocks, engine swap etc etc. yeah i know it sucks but its for our own safety aswell.

feel free to post your whores here on nzh.

    Re: Manila, Philippines

Thank you! Yes, reason we chose NZ is for our kids. We just cannot leave our work here in Manila. I am currently running perhaps one of the top 3 importers, distributor and retailer of Wines and Spirits in the Philippines. I am only an employee here but I run the overall operations of the business. The owner is our family friend hahahaha!

Is the Wines and Spirits industry in NZ big? Actually my supplier/owner of wines and spirits business in Singapore is from NZ!

My wife on the other hand teaches grade school here. She is the one applying for further study there and hopefully teach, too. Any teachers here?
