4800rpm for dohc vtec IIRC. What's even worse is that the figures the council have been recording at Puke are at full noise and high RPM only about 15 odd metres from the cars (by the kink on the back straight)

Gun club has operating hours from 10am-4pm in winter and 10am-6pm in summer, works fine. Surely the neighbours can live with that?

But nah this is crap. As has been shown with the sacking of Alasdair Thompson, even with National in power the real grip of power in this country is still held by the PC Brigade.

    Re: noise issues at Puke

Once the rot sets in there will be loads of other (usually old, divorced, seeking attention) residents who will get the boot into other tracks. That's how it went in the UK. A petition by all of the car users of the circuit needs to be generated and given to the local paper and the local council. Also, there will be plenty of people locally who would support a petition - many businesses would struggle or go bust if the circuit closed in my opinion. I remeber talking to the MOtel lady who reckoned 75% of her annual business came from people using the circuit. The do-gooders don't think about that, or don't care. You kill the circuit, local business ALWAYS suffers. There is no other outcome.....
