Yeah seen that RX8 before, maybe it comes in under "clubman" regs and doesn't require one, like some of those old "Trofeo" Alfa cars a while back?

GEAR-X EK9 #88 - Manfield 1:20.0 first race meet at the circuit!
Missed all of that, though they certainly could have done a better job with the rolling start. Ben next to me was third on the grid and was really pumped at the start and itching to get on with it!!! Steve Taylor did a really great job of keeping everything calm at the front. If he had jumped it - and I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one wondering if they had changed the format of the start at the last minute - it would have been mayhem. Pays to have experienced drivers like him up front.
Talking of mechanics, it would be good to profile one/some/any of them in the newsletter. Wayne is always there with his head under a bonnet, and Andrew Johnson sorted Dave Harker's car's CV after his own car did a big end. Met Nuttie's mechanic as well though missed his name....someone enlighten me? Hoping to have Nick from Speedfactor with me at Taupo as I'll have the little boy with me as the wife is in Pomgolia and I may just struggle otherwise! Mechanics are cool - where are they all????
There was a very interesting FD2 testing on Saturday - with a V8 in it!!!!
Some very cool pics on the face tube site

Don't listen to what I say, I make shit up as I go.
Regarding that rolling start - I was playing to the Ref/Whistle. I could see Scotty running like a pro to get up to the control tower.
However if ST was going, I was going!! The officials got the Reds out fairly quick so no dramas really.

To me it seemed like the front guys got so far ahead on the 'warm up' lap and they couldn't do a rolling start safely.
