Yes just a gasket Tristan but it's a cometic and had to come from the USA, they were out of stock so it took ages to get here.

Hmmm Tyson - you might be right. ent to have a look and cannot read it on the block. The block came from Nathan Strachan in the Naki. The crank and rods were from the original motor that was in the car - they were taken out when that motor was turned into a 1.8 (fatal mistake lol). Pistons are stock Honda 1.6 ones. I am not sure where the head came from. So it's a bitza really. My hunch is that you are right about it being a B. I should know the answers to this, but why is one inferior to another? Oiling?
