On a side note, iv got some factory E46 springs in the shed that you can have if you wanted to experiment with compressing etc. Fo'free.

Like all thing in the automotive world it comes down to how much you want to spend.

If you wanted to go for entry level stuff i would look at BC golds which i highly recommend, if you wanted a performance set and are willing to pay more i would look at : Ground Control Suspension Systems

If you were looking for something cheaper 2nd hand, i would go with these:

I have had this set in a E46 before.

Now if you dont already have some wheels i have some 17 inch LM's and RS's to suit your car

IMO M3 knock-off wheels do not look nice on an E46, something close to OEM is awesome. BBS LM's are really nice but really pricey, you can get some knock-off's. Could also look at Alpina styled wheels. Bimmerforums.com | The Ultimate BMW Forum is also a good place (international forum) for all things BMW. Every model you can find in this country is covered on that forum.

As for suspension, I would suggest Bilstein components. They're very good quality and a provider of many OEM sports suspension. They offer a very good balance between comfort and handling, precisely what BMW's are about.

this is true with the knock offs but working my way to get something like LMs, love the look of em. but thats very good info there zara. im just registered on the bimmerforums aswel so will look in to thatnthanks

oh and i am now shortening the shocks and springs for a tester to see if i can get aslow as i want with out adjustable suspension, see how this goes. I have never shortened these before any pros and cons for this over adjustables? for a e46. anybody done this before and get a slammed look with the shortened stuff?
