Because the NZ drift scene is too spectator orientated. The general drift-going crowd are not the biggest fans of Hondas... at all.

Do you realise that in the time it takes you to type "da", you could have typed "the"? Yet the amount of intelligence it adds to your image is just immeasurable.

u do realise itl cost u an absoloute shit load to get an s200 upto spec?, its what 15-20k for the car, then about 2k on suspension, 1500 on a cage, then about 10000 on engine mods

    itl need to be 350 - 400whp + to carry a drift at 180kph

no... more like s2000 is not an easy car to drift....

lack of low end torque being one issue, then you got the snappy rear end that is not very easy to hold in a drift, and also the steering rack does not allow for decent counter lock....

and if you get it to 400hp... you'll start having problem with the rear diff as it's notoriously weak ...

You could do it, but it wouldn't be all honda anymore. Nissan rear end, maybe S15 or something?

turbo the motor, (make it strong)
surely you can mod the rack, expensive but dooable.

Maybe not as expensive as mad mikes rotor machine tho,

Stef Papadakis runs/ran one in the US. Check www.aempower.com for some info, but apparently they're pretty shite at drifting straight out of the box.

There are a few in Japan but the amount of work needed would be out of your league at a gues, as they have had huge money spent in every area to get the cars up to scratch.

But if you wana be a driftA to have people like you then get a silvia or theres a dope AE86 in vehicle exchange you could always do the f20C conversion an still rep the vtecs yo.

Use a silvia and rebadge it with the H lol. Have a look on youtube at some of the jap drifting, They uses S2000s and NSXs but they probably spend a shit load on gear.

Take a s14, alot cheeper and easier to drift. Drifting a S2000 isn't going to stop people hating on some ricer in an auto Civic with chromes and neons - which is why they do hate.

And with the money you save, you can buy a dictionary and get some grammar lessons

If you really have the money then do it! Obviously it would be much much cheaper to drift a R32 or silvia but if money is no object then the sky is your limits.

The difference is, Mad Mike has massive corporate sponsorship, and already has a reputation for being an experienced and successful drifter. He can afford to change his car as often as he changes his hat. Could you afford to go through a set of tyres a run? A set of brakepads a day? An engine every season? etc. You need to start small, aim high.
