anyone coming up to auckland from 'gore/southland'

    as above,

last opportunity for me to pick up some bumpers, freight seems to be fairly expensive, so giving it another shot after calling around many freight companys today.. ..

if anyone is coming up this way from there, or knows someone in the trade that could possibly get cheaper freight for 2 standard ek bumpers to auckland, please let me know.

Just get someone to go there to SIMM, then find one of the Jaffa's/WSC to bring them up north ...

Seriously man, do you honestly think anybody would want two bumpers in the car with them? I know of one (perhaps two) carloads of people coming up from Invercargill for SIMM, and there is little to no chance that they will fit them in. Gore is about a 6-7 hour boring drive from Christchurch from memory, so it's not like somebody would just pop out for the day to pick them up free of charge.

Stop being a tight-arse and pay shipping, or think about things first and buy from somewhere where you can afford shipping from or can pick them up yourself.

Re: anyone coming up to auckland from 'gore/southland'

I haven't purchased yet, im seeking options. its ridiculously priced to ship them from there to auckland! like i could buy another aftermarket bumper from MARKE and still have change, well actually seeing as hes doing a special on the BYS, i could buy two of those and have change left over!

if i can sort someone to bring them up, then ill look in to buying, but i haven't purchased anything yet or made confirmation.

and maybe i was more thinking there maybe a 'possibility' someone might be coming up that could fit them in?

why make a huge deal out of it, if you cant help then sweet, dont waste your energy telling me stuff i dont want to hear. its no big deal. if i cant get em up then, i wont buy, simple.

how is it being tight ass? the price is fairly costly to get it freighted by a company.
i know for a fact that anyone on the forum will look in to trying to get cheaper prices on things if they could, rather than paying full/retail.

Give Jim Bob's freight a call. Their phone number is 5. Don't forget the area code, so in full it is (03) 5. Tell them I sent you.

What's so funny? There are only 12 phones in Gore... that's so you can count them on your fingers.

They're also on a "party line". That means if phone 12 is on a call, anyone ahead can pick up their phone and join the party.

Damn straight, freight isn't that expensive if you just ring around and ask, I just sent 32kg of tyres from Whakatane (We have 13 phones here, beat that Gore!) to Chch for around $90. Give Frieghtlines a call, kiss some ass and see what they can do. Hell I'll even give you their website: www.freightlines.co.nz

Tell them Linfox 61 told you to call them..........

Thats not that bad. Mainfreight quoted me $205 to get 4 15" tyres (no rims) from mt manganui to chch. Way smaller and way less distance than you are going so I'd say thats okay..

Freight isint cheap, so if you cant afford dont come moan on here

Re: anyone coming up to auckland from 'gore/southland'

What you need to remember is that as soon as you send anything across the Strait it gets gets expensive, combine that with the fact that you're having something sent from Gore all the way to Auckland and there's a relatively good reason that it's expensive. Not too mention that the likes of Mainfreight can't really be fucked with small jobs with normal customers such as yourself. The time and effort doing your job is probably more than would be required to pull up to a warehouse, put on a full load of palletised something (lets say bottle water), shut the curtains and go.

But that's just the way it works I guess, although I'm not overly knowledgable in freight as I more know about Timber and Logs etc.
