how do I go about sending wheels+tyres down to otago?

    as above,

which company will be best suited to send 17" mags with tyres on them to otago from auckland?

and whats usually the story with when you take them in to depot, do you just take them as they are and just give them the mags?

ring around for the best price and id suggest putting them in some form of box with maybe some bubble wrap? Just to be safe.

Just ring around man, yellow pages for places like mainfreight, fliways, etc etc.

I would package them with cardboard or something before they left, take some pics so you know what condition they left in. And from what i hear Depot to Depot is always cheaper then Door to door delivery

No problem. Ill save them for your next thread which could be solved with a phone and the yellow pages.

This is true. Much like it is your first time wiping your arse Ben, it wouldn't be the first time freight companies like Mainfreight have sent rims - so they could give you advice. I know for a fact they can provide materials for shipping.

When I sent my RNR's to Auckland, from what I remember I first wrapped each in a layer of bubblewrap, stacked them on top of eachother with a layer of cardboard in between, then a layer of foam around them all, then several layers of packaging plastic-wrap (or even gladwrap). Used a packaging strap around the whole lot to stop them sliding sideways. Sent through Fliway. RJ may have had extra shipping precautions taken as they were sent through him.

Take wheels to a depot. Slap them on a pallet. No extra work required in wrapping them. I have done it many times and have not had any worries. Mainfreight is good.

Jeeze, enough of the "ring a courier etc" comments on "what's the best way to shift xyz" posts.

While some peeps may not know how to shift stuff about the country, I suspect most people probably know that calling up freight companies for quotes is how things were done before the 'net was invented - what they're really asking is for advice from people who've used couriers as to who's the cheapest for a specific run, who can be trusted, who's a rip off, what other things there are to be aware of, etc.
Either way, these are perfectly valid questions.

Granted, there is a lot of such posts though. But what that probably means is that there should be a sticky to a list of courier threads or similar that people would probably see first, or at least could be redirected to, instead of pointless and unhelpful "ring a courier dickhead" type replies.

    Basic Win !

I get your point Baxter but second thread I've seen of this (arguably) pointless “get a phone book/search old threads” nature I’ve seen from the OP in 24 hours.
Unless you’re going to “Hone Harawira Transport Ltd est 2009” and not a well known mover I’d say you’ll be fine.

yes but not every company charges the same rates etc. and seeing as im sure a lot of people on here have done it, i figured, i'd get a straight forward answer instead of having to call lots of different places etc. timesaver i guess you might call it .. ..

The above post is why so many people on here hate you

Your time is limited here, Ive freighted all sorts, motors, wheels, body panels, seats etc all over the country and never once asked on here.

How about you ring 5 or 6 freight companys then use the cheapest?

Common sense in life seemed to have missed you, by the time you typed your shitty ass replies my wheels and tyres would have already been sent

    idiot
