Im sure you've all seen the Rover SD1 built in England with a Rolls royce Meter 27 litre tank engine?
There's this one too, looks like a complete piece of shit........then it starts up and you get a little scared ha ha YouTube - Rolls-Royce Meteor 27 litre V12 engine start
what a terrible video - did nothing to show off the power of the car.
Looks totally impractical to me - usless.

Essentially the same, the Meteor is the heavier naturally aspirated version, it was a tank engine and was also a great way to use up all the rejected parts for Merlins which failled strict aviation quality control and post war left overs.
It was most famously used to power the post war Centurian tank.
Power per cc. If Honda made a 41L engine at say 125hp per litre like S2000, now that would be awesome. As for the merlin, did you guys know of the real prop driven power house of WW2. The Hawker Sea Fury which had a Bristol 18 cylinder twin row radial that made 2480hp. It was the fastest and most powerful prop driven aircraft of the war.

Haters will change their mind the second they hear one of these start up.
I looooooooooooooooooove radials![]()
Went to the Blenheim airshow not that long ago, fell in love with the sound of F4U Corsair. Went on a Wiki rampage some stage afterwards at work and found this gem, which is a couple of models up from what is in the Corsair.
Pratt & Whitney R-4360 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
# Type: 28-cylinder supercharged air-cooled four-row radial engine
# Displacement: 4,362.5 in³ (71.49 L)
# Supercharger: Gear-driven single stage variable speed centrifugal type supercharger
# Turbocharger: General Electric CHM-2
* Power output: 4,300 hp (3,210 kW)
* Specific power: 0.99 hp/in³ (44.9 kW/L)
For being designed in 1944, that is VERY impressive imho. I want a car with that donk.
This is a little silly too: YouTube - Kawasaki 48 Cylinder Runs!
Aw I love big powerful engines. When the lynx was doing the cook stright I was talking to the captain and he said it was running 4 catapillar V16 diesel, each 10,000HP each at 2800RPM. Thats 40,000HP Fuck yeah
And all this engine talk made me look up homemade gas turbine engines out of turbos. GO LOOK ITS AWESOME. Now Im gona look at making one.![]()

Mate! I got 2 big scania turbos from work the other day, im going to make one as well. Looking at running it on lpg, and using a mr2 electric power steering pump to supply oil pressure to the feed![]()
Flatmate is helping me fab up the combustion chamber and we are going to make a big stand for it so it wont blow over when going full noise.
Can't wait to run it up one friday at after work drinks lol.
