One Christmas Day there were bugger-all stations open and I was trying to limp it into BP in the city but it sputtered on the motorway onramp so I had to pull over and top it up with the petrol from the lawnmower I conveniently had in the boot.

Mileage for the Commodore in Wellington was...5.61 km/L or 17.81 L/100km. Gag.

    Re: Post your Fuel Economy

    - It can carry a (literal) shed-load of stuff in the boot, with 3 adults, 2 kids and 2 cats in the cabin while towing over a ton on the trailer.
    - In 9 and a half years it's required 2 shocks, 2 brake pads, 2 brake discs, 4 tyres, and a lead. I haven't even flushed the radiator.
    - The tranny had a fault when we bought it, 110,000km ago. The fault hasn't got any worse, regardless of merciless thrashing and around 20,000km of heavy towing.
    - It'll still be going in 400,000km time, even if I treat it with the same disdain.
    - It does awesome single-pegger burnouts on command.
    - I can fit a 1UZ, VH41/45, 2JZ, 1JZ, LSx or RBxxxxxx in it. The RBs are pretty much bolt-in. And it's lighter than anything that carried these enignes from the factory except some of the RBs.
    - The Emotec is low-tech but you can get them into the 9s and still drive them daily.

And if I ever do actually service the engine it'll go back to around 550km on a tank.

Exactly 10.60km/l ricing around town. I know this cause I ran my car dry out of petrol a few days ago, then stuck $20 in which at $1.629 was 12.27 litres, which got me 130.1km and then I ran out of petrol and had to walk home

is that 350km's empty or just till fuel light comes on?

When the fuel light comes on there is up to 10L still in the tank.

it's definitely bigger than 40L. I personally have put 44.7L into my old DC2

EDIT: Just checked my dc2 service manual and the fuel tank is indeed 50L (13.2gallons)
