NZHondas North Island Mega Meet
Luge/Wind Down Meet

What: Luge Spectacular
Time: 12:30pm Gondola carpark, Rotorua
Where: Fairy Springs Road, Rotorua

For those of you who can never have enough racing, or watching people munt each other, this is the perfect way to wind down the weekends activities. Its approx 1 hour drive from the centre of Taupo, and a slight detour for those people heading North.






Conveniently located just minutes from Rotorua's City centre, on the side of Mount Ngongotaha, Skyline Skyrides can carry you to 487 metres above sea level to a fun park environment.

Providing panoramic views of Rotorua City, Lake Rotorua and the surrounding area, Skyline Skyrides is an all weather attraction, and is open every day of the year.

Operating hours are from 9.00am daily until end of operation each night.

Gondola Cableway
A 900 metre long Doppelmayr cableway system with a vertical rise of 178.5 metres, is capable of carrying 2000 people an hour in eight seater cabins.

Our Location
From Taupo and the south
On the approaches to Rotorua, turn left into Old Taupo Road at the Waiariki Polytechnic, continue along Old Taupo Road which continues as Fairy Springs Road at the major intersection of Clayton Road and Lake Road.

Continue along Fairy Springs Road for approximately 2 kilometres, our entrance is sign-posted on your left hand side.

Scenic Luge

- A 2 kilometre scenic ride through Skylines very own Redwood Forest.
- Pull off rest areas at great locations for taking photographs
- Fun for all ages, children under six can be carried in tandem
- Lit for twilight luging over summer months
- Riders return to the top via a double seater chairlift
- An all weather attraction



Intermediate Luge
- 1.7 kilometers in length and with all the thrills that have made the luge such a popular all age entertainment activity.
- Featuring a tunnel, spirals and awesome views over the city and lake, this track will be a must do for all luge addicts
- Lit for twilight luging over summer months



Advanced Luge Track
- 1 kilometre thrilling and exhilarating ride
- Exciting bends and dips
- Suitable for all ages from 10 years and upwards
- Return to the top via a double seater chairlift

I'm pretty keen on a round of golf on the saturday. I know a few others will be too...

2HEKTK, Konig, Track whore, Dumbo etc

Prob heading back on Sunday but I really dont want to miss the Luge

Sadly no..

Its been a bit of a tradition to have it on sunday as a lot of members go that way on sunday to head back to auckland. Also plenty more is planned for the saturday such as golf and rafting etc

Nothing stopping ya from goin up on saturday with a few other SI peoples that cant go on sunday. Its about an hour drive from taupo..

Seriously XPLOIT, just take the Monday off too. Make a real break of it and cruise back at a leisurely pace on the Monday after the festivities have finished

that's what marc and i did for SIMM as well
5 day weekend ftw! definitely worth it so you can have a nice cruise up and back without worrying about schedules or missing out on stuff

white water rafting is awesome
we went for my mates birthday last year too. we went on the wairoa river near tauranga grade 5 FTW. and they running on the 21st of october...

i would be keen to try the kaituna river.
