b16a crx ecu code 21

hi guys ,my ef8 crx used to drives fine but now it doesnt have a vtec any more,and i got my ecu fault code reading is 21... and i check it on this site. people says its the vtec solinoid .. just wondering if there could be any other fault that can give me the fault code 21?

I have had the code before and it turned out to be a loose connection with my VAFC; after I disconnected it to reroute it.

Check all connections, clean out the solenoid (could be a bit gunked up and unable to engage) then reset your ECU (just disconnect the battery for 30 seconds or so).

if there is an error its likely something wrong in the wiring , check that the plug by the solenoid is in firm and that the solenoid is earthed. If worst comes to worst then run a wire from pin A8 on the ecu to the solenoid and see if vtec works , if still no vtec then ger a pice of wire an connect the solenoid wire to the battery momenterily , it should make an audible click if not then the solenoid is probably rooted
