DC2 ecu questions

Hi

Im going to do a manual conversion on my 1998 sir-g integra and just had a couple of ecu questions that I wondered if you guys could help me with. I have tried searching but havnt really found the answers i was looking for.

here are the questions

Can I just plug in a manual ecu from the same model, year etc or is there
more to it than that??

My car has abs & airbags so i would assume i need a ecu that has these
as well??

im still pretty new to hondas so any help would be much appreciated

cheers

Re: DC2 ecu questions

ABS and Airbags have there own ECU so u cdont need to worry about that

and yes u should be able to put in the manual ECU no problems

your need a obd2a ecu because they have different plugs unless you get a conversion harness

Re: DC2 ecu questions

So what cars (year, model etc) would a obd2a integra ecu come out of incase i need to go to a wreckers and ask for one??

Would a ITR ecu work??

Also what is involved in the conversion harness and were would i get one if i chose to go that way??

Re: DC2 ecu questions

PM this guy, i know he was selling OBD2A to 0BD1 conversion harness which will make the job easier for you. I pmd him though for a mate and he hasnt replied. Worth a try. Although there are writeups around to DIY the wiring harness just depends how good you are etc.

TradeMe.co.nz - Honda Integra TypeRturbo 1996 - New Zealand

OBD2 is 96 - 2000 i think so that 93 si ecu will be Obd1.

Edit: if you have an SIR-G im sure it would already be OBD2?

Differences between the OBD series (Taken from Hondata Website)

Top - OBD2B(left 3 plugs used)
- OBD2A
- OBD1
- OBD0
