Location: Kaikohe | Yeah... D2R. One of mine blew a while ago and I got a new pair off trade me. Pays to buy a pair cos' they come out in different colour temperatures. These are the ones I got (8000K) and they look a lot nicer (and a bit clearer) than the Philips ones that were in the car already. Getting them off trademe was a bit worring, but I've had no problems since buying them 6 months ago. Ps.. I tried Repco first and the guy there didn't even know what HID lights were ![]()

I bought 1 new bulb from Honda and it's very dull and yellow compared to the other... Time for a new pair!Do you think 8000K is a good temperature? Not too blue?

Location: Kaikohe | 8000K is a lot better than the 4300K ones that came with the car. Doesn't really stand out as blue - more of an icy colour (only looks blue because every other cars headlights are so dull). It makes the reflectors and signs on the road really stand out when driving at night which makes it a lot easier and safer to drive. Also a lot less strain on the eyes as everything stands out. I've done a lot of night driving (eg Kaikohe to Palmerston North from dusk til dawn) and these were definately worth the money as the 8000K bulbs keep you alert. I hardly ever need use my Full beams now because these are so clear. (just make sure you get the 35W ones. Some cheap shit ones are selling on trade me with higher wattage which I've heard can get too hot for your housing etc). Hope this helps PS. If I can figure out how to upload some pics, I'll post some which show the colour difference between the HID Bulbs and the fog lights... [/img]

Location: Kaikohe | Hope this works (I'm sure there's an easier way)... Here's the Lights on dip http://www.bebo.com/PhotoAlbumBig.js...oId=6486146889 Here they are with the fog lights on as well (really dull looking, but used to look alright before I got the new bulbs) http://www.bebo.com/PhotoAlbumBig.js...oId=6486146902 Sorry if it don't work ops:

Location: Auckland | I have 2 cars with the HID bulbs and the blue ones are great. Only problem is what happens on high beam - the little blue light on the dash glows, but can't see much difference. I changed the high beam to Philips +50 bulbs (either get Hella +50 or Repco now sell the Philips bulbs) which helps. There are also some really blue JDM halogen bulbs available, which I might try. |
