| Junior Member 700rpm (Idle) | gizmo camfc problem! rev cut out reduced about 2000rpm :( Hey guys i just installed a brand new gizmo cam fc controller in my fiancee's car (link ofcontroller below). I got it all wired up today. Car is a ek4 honda civic b16a motor which standard doesnt hit vtec till 6000rpm and redlines at 8500rpm. after installing camfc i adjusted vtec down to 3500 rpm it engages fine however car will not rev over 6000rpm which is absolutely hopeless when standard it used to rev 8500!!! ive checkd all the vtec on and off settings and wiring etc all to no avail. Could someone help me out please ! http://www.racinglab.com/gizzmo-g0924.html |

| Junior Member 700rpm (Idle) | beacuse i can lol na i got the vtec controller to adjust it down from 6000rmp to more like 5000 or so so i dont need to redline in each gear to stay in vtec. seems engine check light wont go off with the vtec wire cut and connected to the controller. i just reconnected it in a connector and engine check light went off... only thing i can think is vtm wire needs connecting as this following excerpt from manual says "BROWN, VTM: On VTEC’s this wire must be connected to the oil pressure switch wire that returns to the ECU. In VTEC applications, Be aware that not all VTEC’s have a VTM wire, ESP Type R’s an SOHC VTECs." so my question is since the wiring diagram for an ek4 as stated in the instruction manual has no vtm wire or oil pressure switch where the heck do i put this wire>>?? |

Location: Christchurch | Take it out. Save installing it until you have enough mods to warrant having it. A pod-filter won't really alter the AF ratios enough to really require tuning... tunes are generally done with a minimum of intake, headers, and exhaust. Fucking around with the VTEC point, even just to stay in VTEC between gears, really screws things up. If you are really dead-set on installing it, just go through the installation again, and be very thorough.

| Senior Member 7,000rpm (Peak Power) | Dude, sell your cam FC, save up a bit more and get a good set of headers and exhaust. Then buy a VAFCII for around $250 and get that tuned. VAFCII > CAM FC. Absolutely no point and a waste of money getting it tuned with just a pod filter. |
