s20 gearbox code

hey just wondering what the full gearbox codes for the s20 boxs are?

ie s20 1049850 d15b eti 91 civ
s20 1620575 dc1 teg
s20 2072493 d15b vti civ

and whats the prefered gearbox? for just a d15b engine (vti)

there are no full codes and no real easy way to tell the boxes apart.

there is one of the casting marks that gives a good indication though as it tells u that the box has bigger bearings (40mm instead of 35mm) which means its stronger, this also generally speaking means it has the better ratios in it

near the transmission filling plug should be a little circle with with a line accross the middle should say P20 and underneath A000 or B000

A000=bad box
B000=good box

and going off what uve listed above id say the VTI box would be the one u want
