Tacho install in prelude

Sorry if this has been covered, had a look but too many search resualts and nothing relavant...

I got a monsta tacho with a shift light today for cheap, want to install it into my prelude race car so I can keep more attention on the track and not have to look down.

Wasnt until I got home I realised I didnt have a coil as such, having not had the car for that long. Was wondering if anyone could tell me what to connect the green wire to?

Thanks in advance..

Don't have a coil? Of course you do, preludes run distributors. The signal wire from the tacho will connect to the signal wire from the distributor which I think is uniformly blue on Hondas.. Take a look ;o

Nate, chris here.

Dont install it, monster tacho's are the worst thing since Mivec, they look rediculous, get in the way and you have a rev counter already! You know how nicks car looks with one, its huge!

get a shift light instead, sell the tacho on for more than you bought it and use that.

IMO

Dont do it... please.

Your car already has a tacho, you dont need another one.

Okay, Installed.

Put the tacho unit under drivers seat and mounted the shift light on the pillar. Means I can change the settings easily but dont have a huge blind spot tacho staring at me.

Plus, really cant be assed spending $150 more just to have a diff colored shift light, saving that money for a vafc.

LOL, I guess thats one way to do it. I'd rather sell the tacho and buy a shift light that has features useful for a race car, like launch control.
Or keep the tacho and wear it around your neck on a big chain.

Thats an excellent idea!! Bling bling 5" tacho yo... Pure vtax stylez.

Plan is to buy a gizzmo shift light at some stage, but the cheap one will do for now, have set it right up high so itl only ever shine when im just about to hit rev limit.

Was the blue one, thanks for the help, ment I got it installed in a fraction of the time, was meaning to say thanks to the dude who made me strip off the black and yellow wire, I had already tested it on the blue wire but wanted to do it right.
