DA6 electrical problem

i have encountered a very annoying problem, it seems i have a loose wire somewhere that is causing my cat light and battery light to come on, and it shuts the alternator down it seems to do it when accelerating and it goes away on the occasion very quickley or not for say 5 min.... has anyone come across this problem before? the only new thing i have doe is a new exhaust and yes the cat sensor is earthed.
I have heard of similar problem with some hondas whish run 4 wires to the altrernator, the fourth wire is to a regulator which limits the alternators output voltage in order to transmit all power to the wheels, but mine is only 3 wire.
does anyone know what circuit includes both the cat and alternator?

thanks in advance

there is nothing else on the circuit. maybe your alternator is actualy poked, or your belt needs to be replaced/tensioned

The brushes in the alternator will be on their last legs, making and breaking contact untill they won't work at all, the cat light always comes on with the alternator light (not sure why) but the alternator will be the cause.
