long block?,short block?

This must sound so stupid but i have no idea how to know the difference between a long and short block.
any help is much appreciated

short block is normally just the head and block with nothing else

long block normally includes the manifolds and accessorys etc

thats not right sorry to say

short block is the Block with no head

long block has a head on it - doesnt always include manifolds

cheers now i understand as i plan on putting a short block b20b in with my b16b head :twisted: detais will be put up if it goes ahead

haha no worries

if you are going to do the B20 block/B16 head make sure you change the B20 pistons/rods for B16 or B18 items (i think?) a quick search will give you all the info on these builds though - best of luck with it

eagle rods and i can't remember the name of the pistons but a forged setup is on the cards if it all goes ahead.
