Car cutting out

Since yesterday the car has randomly decided to like turn off while moving and a few times when trying to start. Basically its like its stalling but none of the lights on the dash come on I just lose the engine

This morning had a few problems starting it, it fires and then cuts out once its started straight away. But for some reason started fine via remote start... has my alarm taken over my car>? or is their a simple explanation why its doing this..

It's happened 4 times now since yesterday, twice while the car was at normal temperature both when turning at low revs but it wasn't like stalling-like rev's

Could be a worn ignition switch... Mine only did it when I was starting it - turn it to ON, no dash lights came on - totally dead (thought dead battery), flicked it to START, dash lights came on and engine started, returned back to ON, and everything went dead again - engine stopped, no dash lights, no radio nothing.

No the dash lights work when the car is on ON.. that other link appears not the same thing so therefore offers no insight into what the problem is AS THE CAR HAS CUT OUT WHILE MOVING A FEW TIMES.

The car fires straight away, no delay, exactly as it has for the last 3yrs i've owned it, its just the immediate second after its started it just cuts right out but no dash lights show up but it's obviously stalled or something.

The weird thing is now it won't start at all via key it just does the same cut out thing, but my remote start works first time, every time... it wouldn't be an alarm issue with like an immobiliser permanently turning the engine off??

It seems weird how its starting so quickly and then randomly cuts out but works fine with the remote...

I'd say it's highly likely that you have something not quite right in your alarm. Is it a recent install? Is it still under warranty? The fact that the remote start works perfectly shows that all the factory gear is working, I suspect some wiring fault is casuing your alarm to shut down the engine because of a false signal. Definitely take it back to the installers if you can.

Ah found the problem. Thanks for the help, turns out it was ignition switch related after all, the spring thing was causing engine to turn off and cornering sometimes made it turn off too. Fixed now.
