CAD drawings

Has anyone got any CAD drawings of honda parts?. I'm after a inlet manifold flange profile for a B16a in particular, but anything else would be of interest.

Something cool http://www.3dcadbrowser.com/preview.aspx?ModelCode=2518

so that i don't have to bother registering just to find out what it is can you elaborate a bit about the link?

I use CAD software everyday for work, don't know about any for Honda's though.

Sorry, the link has several 3D modeled hondas, and various other things. They are quite well done.

I've spent a few hours tracking across the net on various forums etc, trying to find CAD or "blueprint" files of parts. Not much success

Our QC head is always going on about getting this gadget, I have forgotten the name of the measuring instrument but i think it is something like a CMM. Anyway it has a probe which follows the profile of whatever it is you are measuring and outputs the main points into a text file which can then be imported into most decent 3D CAD packages. Polygon file maybe? They use these machines alot when checking things like precision plastic injection moulds with complex 3D shapes which can't be checked with conventional measuring equipment.

Not much help really though.

Coordinate Measuring Machine there Pnut Quite nifty, air bearings and such ... had one at my work back in the day and had a play with one at Emex last year. Not cheap by any means thats for sure, but bloody accurate (0.0002mm for Mitutoyo) and quite cool for finding hole centres etc as well as all the other uber complex stuff they can do.

I have a SolidWorks file of an exhaust flange for B series if that helps, can DWG or DXF it no problem. No gurentee on the accuracy but if i remember rightly i laser cut my flange from it.

cheers Dave, could you send a DXF to micbryce@orcon.net.nz
hopefully my emails working again might be helpful if I end up turboing my car later on ( thats if I don't supercharge it )

Yeah thats the one, the QC guy wants one, but to be honest we would never need one as most of our stuff is 2 1/2D and we have a digital height gauge which does pretty much the same stuff. You sure about the accuracy there Dave? That is .2 off a micron, any fraction of change in temperature like someone breathing on the object would cause enough expansion to throw that out! Even 2 microns is a bit of a joke when it comes to measurement in real world situations, the readout might give you a measurement to 2 microns (the height gauges at work read to 1 micron) but if you check the documentation you are lucky if they guarentee anything under 10 (or 0.01mm). We have had this debate quite a few times at work now

But i digress

Not the same page i was looking at last time but some nifty gear none the less ... i would image you would want a temperature controlled room for doing anything properly pnut ... see if ya work can get the one big enough to put your car in hehe.

Bluetech i will send when i have a tick.

yea we use a temperature controlled QC room, budget set up but better than it used to be  .

"Achieved ultimate accuracy of 0.98m or less for 500 mm length measurement" 8O Damn thats impressive! Bet it costs more than my house 8O
