Weird headlight problem

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem, its kinda irritating.

When I start my car at night and turn my headlights on, the high beam light is 'kind of on', as in it glows blue, but not strong, and my right headlight is only half the normal strength, as if there were 3 stages to my healdlights. (ie half-strength, normal, highbeam)

When I flick my high-beams on momentarily, the problem is solved, and the 'semi' high-beam light dissappears. However sometimes this doesnt solve the problem and I end up driving home with 1.5 headlights.

This is not related to the park lights. Any ideas? anyone had a similar problem. I'm guessing my wiring is crapping out, but what is the easiest solution?

Thanks for any help.

Maybe a corroded connection? I don't know, but that's all that springs to mind.

Dodgy Headlights

It could be your indicator/headlight switch, If you take plastic ignition surround off unplug your headlight switch and plug in second hand one while your old unit is still in car which will tell you if its the switch or not, it should save money on expensive auto electrical diagnosis, do it in front of wrecker to see if switch works, most will be happy to let you try item in front of them it's only a 5 minute job. good luck!
