| Why is my vtec quieter with my new muff I had a muff put on a week ago, from outside the car u cant even hear it go into vtec, but the higher into vtec you go the quieter the muff becomes 2? so if the muffler is quieter in vtec shouldnt you hear the difference from outside :?: I can hear it inside the car fine. |

| Senior Member 700rpm (Idle) | isnt it something to do with the airflow from a stock exhaust into a large muffler..? my mates 4age fxgt is so loud around 3 grand, but gets much quieter when its up at 6+ grand. he just has stock exhaust with a big muffler on it. |

Location: Auckland | my sisters old primera did the same thing, minus the vtec part, the higher the revs the quiter it got, think it was because she got a super turbo muffler, or was it turbo flow, well something like that |

There's your problem, how big is the tip on the muffler?? Get a full exhaust with a couple of resonators and a smaller tip on the rear muffler and it'll sound much nicer. | |
