Whats a good ride height???

My aftermarket fully adjustable supspension has arrive and will be fitted this coming Monday along with my 17's. Just wondering from past experiences what is a good ride height to set the suspensiom at so you can maintain everyday driving ability still. I wont know what the clearance is until I do it but I was thinkinhg of having about a finger space between the guards and tyres. What have you guys done or think would be a good height and so on.

By the way its for a CD6 accord.

Cheers

if you PM PAGEZ he has just had full platform suspension fitted this week, he is riding on 18's but will be able to tell you the ride height that he is set at. I think he is working tonight so wont be near a computer.

I reckon a 2.5 inch drop will get you around a 1 finger gap. That's around 63mm

3 inches or 76mm will get the tyres under the guards.

This is a 2.5" drop on 18's

This is a 3" drop on 18's

Images were found on hondasociety.

PAGEZ - Where are the damn pics man!?!?!?!

scotty get back to work...

I think Rage should get his A into G and put some photos on here to show us what ride height his accord is at. Accords look mint when they are very low like the bottom photo - thats a perfect height

Wow I like the 3inch drop, but Im not to sure about everyday driving in and out of driveways and over speed humps. The 2.5inch drop may suit me better in way of keeping my car access to driveways and speed humps as easy as possible.

gotta remember that those cars look really low because they are kitted out with skirts and front bumpers. there's a big visual difference between a stock accord and one with bodykits.

Find the biggest speed bump/driveway entrance you go over regularly. Park your car half-way over it. Measure the distance between it and the underside of your car, then subtract a little to compensate for having you and some mates onboard. That's the biggest drop you want.

Well said. It's not cool to scrape over everything. You may end up with holes in your exhaust or cracks on you front bumper (like me)(not cool )

Or hear a "ting" sound from the exhaust momentarily touching the humps (like me)... Makes people look tho hehehe

The best height is 100mm or more from the lowest structural point.

Otherwise you should get a CERT

Mine is lowered 30mm on 215/40/17
accords have factory springs that hare sky high, so you need more than 30mm to achieve the "sacked out" look.

I still have trouble with driveways and some parking buildings.
Remember that you have a longer wheelbase than a civic, teg or lude.

Is mine CD5 or 6? what;s the diff?
I have pictures on this site somewhere with before and after shots.

The lower the better, but be carefull dude. too low and you run a greater risk of ripping a hole in the sump when you're miles from anywhere. my 2 cents.

If hes got adjustables he'll need a cert no matter what

I know of a car on these forums that is certed at 135mm to get enough suspension travel

Lower the better. Id rather have the car low with a small kit than have a huge kit that meant you had to have the car sitting higer
