| Senior Member 5,000rpm (VTEC Power!) | Clutch not disengaging! help please :) ive just put the engine and gearbox back into my integra (DA6) and while it was apart I had a new flywheel made up very light! We got it all back together and sweet as and then we went to use the clutch and it wouldnt disengage properly. We had a look at the clutch cable adjustment and it was fine but even at the maximum adjustment it still wouldnt allow the clutch to fully disengage. The place where the clutch cable attaches to the gearbox (cant think of its name) is hitting on the gearbox beforew the clutch is fully disengaged.... so we figured that there would be an adjustment inside the gearbox but it seems that there isnt. The distance from where the flywheel attaches to the crank and where the clutch bites into it has stayed the same so we cant figure out where we have gone wrong we just dont know what to do! Hopefully someone out there can understand my ramblings and can help me get this sorted. Thanks alot Lance ![]()

Location: Auckland | ok sounds to me like the distance from the thrust bearing to the pressure plate might be too much, where was all the lightening coming from? If it is on the pressure plate side you have effectively moved the pressure plate and clutch further away from the thrust bearing. Only thing i can think of to do then is to cut away some of the bellhousing to make the hole for the lever bigger to give it more clearance, as long as the bearing won't come off the lever from the extra travel. Alternatively you may not have fitted the lever to the trust bearing back together properly, have done that myself though i always make a point to check their action is correct before putting it all back in. the gearbox is up tight against the engine right? ![]()

| Senior Member 5,000rpm (VTEC Power!) | yeah I was thinking that the preassure plate may have moved towards the engine a little bit which would just be enough for it to give me greif! Ill have a look at that it was assembled correctly or at least when we took the gearbox out everything was sweet. yes it was tightend up properly and no i cant cut away the bell housing as it would be cutting a fair ammount of aloy off. Hmm it doesnt sound like a good scenario I have in front of me but I will have to fix it none the less. Anyone got anymore ideas? thanks Pnut ![]()

| Senior Member 5,000rpm (VTEC Power!) | check the clutch cable hasn't dislocated itself where it goes through the firewall, I had a similar thing happen on a CRX EF7 ![]()

Location: Auckland | true, could be the cable as come undone from where it clips to either the box end or the pedal end. Be nice if that is all it is If it turns out to be the movement of the pressure plate, what about possibly moving the point where the bearing actuating arm pivots? Could you drill some different holes in the arm to move it closer?
