D15b Ecu problems........"HELP"

I was wondering if someone could help me out!

I'm after the serial number for a D15b vtec ecu for a manual car.

I brought a ecu off Strong Honda but it's for a auto! I took it back to them but they don't have a fu.king clue which ecu it should be, they said there's 30 to 40 different ecu's to choose from!

This is the serial number on this ecu I have.................37820-P08-902

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx...Jimi

As per usual when someone doesn't know they talk BULLSHIT!

There's the vtec-e one, auto/manual, that's 2.
There's the normal vtec one, auto/manual, that's 4.
There's the non-vtec one, auto/manual, that's 6, plus a couple because honda just make everything different for fun and there isn't 30-40!

Make a suggestion to strongs that when they remove them from a car they note down whether the car was auto or manual, or get them to give you one of each serialnumber and then you can bring back the ones you dont need.

Who did you talk to at strongs? Have you got a full chassis number? If you do ring up Honda North shore and they'll look it up for you and tell you which serial number should be on the ecu.

Good Luck

I just spoke to Les at strongs in Auck and he said xactly the same thing as the other guy. very helpful..............not!!

You'd think they would have the right info to match ecu's with each motor!!

Thanx for the info anywayz azza18.

I always talk to Andrew or Peter. But that's because I have signage for them and they sort me out the best bits. Good luck finding one!

you could have made it a whole lot easier for yourself by searching on the net, but hey.
anyway,

Ecus are not kept with the engines, unless they are going into a kit.

when you enquire for a part, we need a part number, otherwise we cant give you the right part. you dont have a part number, we use an "educated guess" at the right one. 9/10 times we are right, but not always.

think about this, there are 17 different headlights for all the different CB accord (ascot, ascot innova, vigor, inspire) models. if you dont know which one you want, how the fuck are we supposed to? especially when we dont have the car infront of us to look at?

also, for EVERY engine that comes through, there is more than 1 or 2 ecus. for an H22a (for example) there are 10.

azza, peter and andrew might set up the picking slip for the part, but they dont pick it

and the 30-40 remark would be called an exaggeration...

Sorry NAspirated, didn't mean to offend you, you're one of the counter sales guys aye? I know Andrew and Peter don't pick the bits but I always seem to get the right part going through them.

nah im not a counter sales guy. they wanted me to be (because of education) but ive done sales work for 5 years and everytime a customer asks me for something, i want to rip their head off because people are so thick and stupid and dont know what they really want.

you didnt offend me dude, just thought i should clear things up. 8)

and not being a dick THUGZ, but the reason you got the wrong part was because you didnt do the research into EXACTLY what you wanted.
