what do yall know about SPOON ECU's?

OK, so was thinking the other day how come the vtec on my da6 comes in at 4800 rpm when the vtec controller is on its highest setting, when apparently the standard changover point is 5500 ish rpms. So I thinking that the ECU has been chipped at some stage and since I brought the car at an auction and have not talked to the previous owner this could be possible. So I thought Ill have a look at the ECU to see if their are non-factory stickers on the casing. I lifted the carpet and there was a SPOON vtec controller box, no surprise there, lifted off the ECU plate and HELLO a mofo SPOON ECU no less, so my questions are:

-What are the benefits of this ECU? I would have thought it would give more fuelling in the VTEC range.
-What are the implications for tuning? should the vtec point be matched to suit the fueling, should it be be professionaly tuned
-realistically how much extra power would it give a b16a1 with intake and exhaust mods?

BTW there are no obvious identification numbers on the unit but Im sure someone would have come accross these before and know something

cool

Ok so it has a spoon ecu? Ok, go to the dyno and get a printout and post it on here because that way we can all see actual figures and this post will stop continually coming up and it may settle an earlier argument about whether spoon is worth the money or if it would be better to buy a fully adjustable link ecu.

I've got a 1st gen. B16A with Intake/Exhaust/Spoon ECU. I did some back-to-back dyno runs last year to find out exactly what the difference was (on the dyno) between a standard ECU and the Spoon ECU.

Red Line = Standard ECU
Green Line = Spoon ECU

The Spoon ECU was good for a 3.3kW bump in peak power and a nice lift in the torque curve right through the whole rev range. My car runs rich with the Spoon ECU - so there's some potential to squeeze a bit more out of it through air/fuel ratio adjustment.

i don't quite follow that bit. its normal for vtec to start at 4800rpm or thereabouts. remember, vtec changeover has two different points, cams at about 4400rpm and the intake butterfly at 5800rpm (varies of course).
