Clunking noise from front of car

I know the titles not very specific but i couldnt think of a better way to describe it.
When i brake somtimes or turn and pull out of a park it makes a clunking sound. Ive had cv joints go on another car ive owned and it doesnt sound like this. Also i only had the boots replaced not long ago and was told the joints where fine. The only idea i really have is that it may be a worn suspension bush or 2?
It doesnt make the sound all the time but it seems to be becoming more frequent.
any1 have any ideas ?
Also how much would a full set of nolathane bushes cost and how hard are they to install ?

Check all of your wheel nuts and see if they're tight.

I agree with cyclone, I had a similar problem for a day or two only to find out my left front had worked the wheel nuts loose

i've had that noise b4 too, it was after i had modded my suspension, i didn't do the strut nut up enought or i cross threaded it, it was something to do with the bumpstops from memory on my last car

u sure those nuts worked themselves loose BWDOWN, i had loose nuts one morning, they didn't work themselves loose, some wanker was tryna steal my mags, but the dog had disturbed them

Yeah i got the same noise, except mine is from the back, pretty sure it has something to do with my rear suspension cause it only happens when i brake or accelerate hard.

I hate weird noises.

Chances are it could be the bush on the lower arm (number '8' in the pic below)

There is a steel tube that runs through the bush, it is molded together as one piece from the factory, and the pressed into the lower arm, if you car has been lowered (which it obviously has) it puts a lot of twisting stress on the bush (if it hasn't been 're-set')
The tube runing through the bush is pinched in the crossmember bracket that holds it, so the tube won't turn. Chances are that the rubber has pulled away from the tube and become 'free'.
There is about 5mm each side of the bush and the noise you hear could be the lower arm slapping against the crossmember bracket faces.

I hope that all made sense

My front left one has just started to do this recently (when I was down in Palmy for Graduation) I am planning to fix it on friday. My car isn't lowered, but I suspect its just the age of the rubber bits.

BTW it is clearly visible where the lower arm has rubbed/slapped against the bracket. If you see rub marks in the bracket then thats your problem.

You have four options, remove the bolt ant bust etc, and replce it
1. HONDA one = $$$$$$$$
2. an aftermarket one (the aftermarket ones are much bigger and fill the 5mm gap at each end so you won't have the problem (they wouild squeeze in there)
3. get some rubber about 5mm thick, put a hole in it like a big rubber 'washer' and add them to each side of the arm.
4. get some mighty strong glue and glue the tube back inside the rubber.

I'm gonna try number 4. I'll let ya know how it goes.

(sorry for the length)

Nice pic

Energy Suspension makes a suspension bushing kit for the DA. Polyurethane bushings to replace the stock pieces. Try summitracing.com.

Well it is certainly stuck back together very well. Really solid.
Haven't heard the clunk noise again yet, but its only been one day.
(If I say it has stopped, it'll prolly start doing it again)
But at any rate the bush is fixed.
I'll let you know of any more progress.

BTW I have read about ppl having noises like this in the states, and the problem can be the ball joint on the Tie rods.

Give everything a good wiggle, check for play in any moving parts.
