and basically he just scrapes through and works whenever he gets a call.. (within what the legal books allow for hours worked continuously etc..) and if it rains it means no work.. due to not being able to lay seal.. or remove earth as its all too wet and messy.. so yeah needless to say he's pissed off about it.. works stupid hours for f#ck all profit as it is.. let alone with the more expensive RUC's

Will probably be quieter than normal in Kawerau as many of the trucks will be in Rotorua and Tauranga. Means I can get some work done and won't have to wait at the weighbridge so long. |

Or Moorehouse Ave. I'm just going to scope out Blenheim and Yaldhurst roads tommorrow morning and if its too bad I'll probably just go home.

I'm gonna leave super early and hope for the best but i'm a courier driver so my days going to be interesting anyway. Stuff owning a diseal for courier driving these days. The V6 petrol mitsubishi van at work is becoming cheaper to run then the diseals and it DRINKS the gass. Some of the owner drivers will be particularlly pissed off. I'm just happy i topped up the van 30 odd thousand k's a couple of weeks ago . It'll just come to the point where everyone will unplug their speedos ( i know alot that already do ), but that wont help the truckies because of the God Squad (Police in charge of pulling over trucks etc).I did lol at all the euro's and other diseals for this years economy rally, they're screwed and recently they've had all those adds bragging about how cheap they are. Jazz FTW once again ![]() ![]() .

Because the average consumer that doesn't work in the trucking industry e.g. me; WILL feel the increased cost of transport as well so technically we should all feel rather unhappy about this new tax. But by blocking up the city and making my trip to work to 2-3 times longer and making me late; which means I have to either work later to earn the same amount of money I would usually earn working normal work hours or earn less than normal doesn't exactly inspire a lot of sympathy for truckers. Wouldn't leaving something like this as an absoloute last resort to voice your opinion be a better option? |

There will be three groups - one coming from the Harbour Bridge in the north, through the northern end of Freemans Bay onto Fanshawe St. A second convoy will come off the north-western motorway onto Nelson St, while a third will approach via the Southern motorway, arriving in the central city on Symonds St. Christchurch The trucks will start driving at 7.30am, heading to the centre of Christchurch from Kaiapoi via the Main North Rd and Papanui Rd, and from Riccarton Racecourse via Blenheim Rd and Moorhouse Ave. Wellington There will be two groups - one meeting just north of Paekakariki at MacKays Crossing, and the other at Port Road, Seaview. Both will travel into the city via the motorway, then follow this path: Terrace Tunnel, Vivian Street, left into Taranaki Street, left into Jervois Quay, Customhouse Quay, left into Whitmore St past the Shell service station, right into Lambton Quay, then up to Parliament on Molesworth street. They will be travelling at around 20-30kph, and are expected to disperse around 9.30am. Hamilton From the north, they will be coming down State Highway 1, Maui St, onto Avalon Dr. From the south, the truckies will be taking Airport Rd then splitting - one group will go down Cobham Dr then making their way to Avalon Dr, while the other will go down Newells Rd, onto Cobham Dr then meet the others on Avalon Dr. Tauranga Some of the truckies will be starting on State Highway 2 South, going to Maunganui Rd, Hewletts Rd, across the Harbour Bridge, Cameron Rd (or Maungatapu Rd), 15th Avenue, back to Cameron Rd, onto the Sulphur Pt roundabout then back down Cameron Rd in the opposite direction. Another group will start on State Highway 2 North, Te Puna, meeting at Clarke Rd. They will then head to Chapel St, go through the Sulphur Pt roundabout, down Cameron Rd to Pyes Pa roundabout. A third group will head from the Kaimais, past Pyes Pa onto Cameron Rd. Dunedin The first group of truckies will start at Teviot St, travel up Andersons Bay Rd onto One Way North, turn left onto Frederick St, left onto George St, do a lap around the Octagon and then exit south. The second will start at Bank St, travel south on One Way south, turn right at Queens Gardens then right onto Princess St, do a lap around the Octagon and then exit north. Rotorua Those heading in from the northeast will be meeting at East Gate Park at 7am. Heading down Te Ngae Rd, the truckies will turn left into Fenton St. From the south they will approach via either Waipa Mill Rd around 7am, and will turn right at the Boys' High intersection. Truckies coming from Ngongotaha Rd wil lturn left at Boys' High, meeting those coming from the south. Invercargill The first group will be starting on Otepuni Ave, then heading down Tramway Rd, Tay St, Dee St, North Rd, Benmore St and finally, Basstian St. The second group will be doing the exact reverse of the above.

its also aimed at the increase in fuel costs as well so really the general public should support it as well, i think a few hundred trucks in a protest rally is gonna make more impact than a few hundred cars | |
