Yeah but some cars aren't exactly subtle either... and if your car's worth anything you're a bit silly if you register it to the address you actually live/keep the car at.... running my plate will lead crooks on a bit of a wild goose chase several hundred km downcountry

That's another thing... in these days of the privacy act strangling pretty much everything when you try to use information in normal business etc, I find it RIDICULOUS that you can still go into a post shop and track someone down with nothing other than their licence plate.

Re: Is it just me or Personalised Plates rediculously priced?

I agree aye, There can be a lot of money tied up in a car and anyone can go find out where it is, then they can easily check the place out, next thing you know........ Car gone.

Can you register a car to a PO box number?

mines to my work lol

on the topic of cars and their regos there was a ctr that went on trademe from $1 reserve I think like 2 weeks ago and sold at $9800, however I was curious and did one of those $1 txt message checks and it came back as money owing on the car, feel sorry for the guy that bought it though

Did it tell you how much owing on the car.

The new owner could have given xx amount to the finance company and the rest to the owner.
