Location: Wellington | Squeezebox Duet: Wireless digital music player Hey guys, looking for opinions/suggestions about digital music players, specifically the Logitech Squeezebox Duet Logitech Squeezebox Duet Digital Media Receivers reviews - CNET Reviews ![]() Basically i'm lazy, and i want to be able to sit in bed and access my entire music collection and have it play through my stereo. which is exactly what this does! The box plugs physically into your stereo, and wirelessly to your network/computers/NAS?, so has access to you're entire music collection, and the remote is like an ipod, which you use to scroll through and chose what you want to listen to has anyone heard of these before? used this before? or know of any alternatives? it's available through c1com for $465 C1 Shoppingmall - Your good Net neighbour - LOGITECH SQUEEZEBOX DUET BLACK EXCL. AWESOME! even the box is fancy ![]() easy as fuck to set up, plug it in, turn it on, download the software to run it, and you're done! So now i can scroll through my entire music collection, complete with album covers etc, all in the palm of my hand, and listen to it through a decent stereo ![]() |

Location: Wellington | Re: Squeezebox Duet: Wireless digital music player only found 3 things i'd like changed so far... 1) seems a little quiet... but that's probably as much to do with my stereo, and using rca outs instead of digital 2) would be so much cooler if it could turn your stereo on and off too (but really, you can't expect it to do everything....) 3) haven't quite worked out how to set the screensaver to show flickr photostreams just yet (it is a standard feature though!)i guess its only major drawback is that its purely for music. if you want something that will stream vids to your tv you're gonna need something else. having said that, for music, its great! |

Location: Wellington | Re: Squeezebox Duet: Wireless digital music player if they included a 500gb hdd with the Squeezebox then i'd say it'd be perfect, but as it stands i think the next best thing will be to buy a cheap old pc, strip it down to bare basics, grab a copy of FreeNAS and a wireless card and run it as a network storage device in a cupboard or something unfortunatly my IT knowledge extends about as fa as knowing that that should work in theory. no idea how to actually do it though ![]() |
