Re: freeview problem

we had to fiddle round with the satallite settings in ours to get it working properly, also check all the plugs, they don't like loose connections

Re: freeview problem

Try switching sattelites. Did that to Sky Digital when we got shit signal and it fixed it.

Re: freeview problem

How old is the LNB on the dish? Cause I know if the LNB on the dish is quite old, Freeview sometimes doesn't like it and won't pick up any channels.

Re: freeview problem

We sell freeview unit's at my work, from what i know about them u must have the Dish pointing in the right direction to begin with and have the recevier set to the right Degree's or angle on the dish aswell so it's linked or pointing up at the satellite's best range of broadcast, and thats just to begin with other than that the LNB setting must be correct to.

Re: freeview problem

yep, you have the LNB setting wrong, if it is set to 11.30 at the moment change it to 10.75 (and if 10.75 change it to 11.30), or go up and have a look at the L.O freq on the LNB itself.
Post up if that doesnt work.

Re: freeview problem

LNB? is that the reciver bit of the dish? the whole system was installed in december last year. Ive just changed the setting to 10750 on the menu and set it scanning for the channels.

Just out of interest freeview comes from the same satiltle as sky correct?

The default satellite is the Sky Optus 1 i believe but if you do abit of googling you can actually get russian satellites and pretty much any other's you just have to know whether to point it Nth Sth Est Wst type thing and what degree angle to have it at. Problem is have to get to the dish and manually change it i only knwo this because we sell the dish and mounting kit's for freeview aswell.

Re: freeview problem

hmm i might have to look into a freeview box as we have a sky satellite on the roof doing nothing.

since it was pointing the right way for sky, would it be fair to say that it wouldnt need to be adjusted for freeview? or are they totally different satellites/whatnot

Correct. If it worked when you had Sky it's pointing in the right direction for Freeview.

Re: freeview problem

Sorry to bring this up again, I'm looking into getting Freeview and want to know what is the cheapest way to get FreeviewHD? I have an inbuilt UHF antenna that runs throughout the house, unfortunately the un-used sky dish is on the other side of the house from my room...

Re: freeview problem

You can only Get "HD" via UHF as far as I know on Freeview. Someone might correct me though.

I thought Freeview was a satellite thing?
Doesn't everyone have a UHF antenna?
Mmm I can't wait for HD, Blu Ray etc
FreeviewHD isn't at 1080p, is it? 768p, right?
