First car was a 1985 Nissan Skyline 2dr. Went to look at it and the guy who owned it took me for a spin around the block. Was a wet day and as soon as we got out of mums sight we were sideways for the rest of the test drive so I HAD to have it.

Got it home, when WOF time came around it needed $1500 worth of stuff fixed (diff being one wonder why, LO

Had a great time doing skids in that car.

Then I had a 1976 Toyota Corolla SL Coupe. Gutted I sold it in the end, was very tidy, lowered and a 2" exhaust 8)

Ohhh those were the glory days.

I learned to drive in dads 80-something Holden Camira Wagon. Oh my god that was a piece of junk, but it was the only manual car we had at the time.

It later exploded in a shower of oil and was sold to a really dodgy guy for $200

Then moved on to dads 1990 mirage hatch for my full liscence.

First car i owned was a Hondamatic 1980 Honda Civic hatch in the 80's favourite colour -> Brown 8) After we boosted it, i crashed it into a curb one arvo after we had put the 155/80R13 wheels back on  they didnt grip much on wet tarmac.

Theres actually a photo of that car in some ancient NZPC magazine from the 2004 Honda vs Toyota drags

First car driven was Dad's 1984 Ford Fairmont Ghia , on the way back from the Helensville Golf Club. I was so scared I forgot to put on my seatbelt, and nearly took out a tractor doing 100km/h on a 65km/h bend. That car was so awesome it got stolen. Just like Dad's '69 Capri Mk1. And his late'80s Eterna...

I started learning after that in the good old Austin 1100, which my sister bought to learn in but never drove. She sold it when she realised I was the only one driving it, so I moved on to mum's '84 Pulsar. After I'd scared her a few times I went to Apple driving school (Errol Wagoner was the instructor) and drove a City, which I left because Errol was a bastard, then went to AA driving school in a late '80s Corolla with a button clutch and a starter button because students kept riding the clutch and stalling. Since then I've been able to get in any manual car and drive it no problems first time. I only went to driving schools because mum was too busy to teach me, not that she's a paragon of efficient driving...

After I got my license I bought an '87 Madaz Familia XR 5-door, 5-speed. Which I had a head-on in 4 days later. Ph34r.

I first started steering on my dads lap down our old 2k no exit shingle road in a dirty ol' corolla wagon, for xmas when I was 10 mum bought me my first car.... A 1975 Ford Escort MK2. Jumped in that and taught myself to drive. After that, I bought a $50 MK5 Cortina Wagon, A Vaxhall Viva (with roll cage, 4AGE and duals on the back!), then a 74 MK1 Escort and then another MK2 Escort that Mum was using as it was too good for the paddock until she crashed it (Into dad in his Landcruiser causing over $3k damage to the cruiser).

Ahhhhh the days, wish I knew how to use a camera back then.

My brother's 1976? Hillman Hunter. It was like pooh green but it kicked arse. When he crashed it and munched the radiator it still drove him to and from work for like four days. That was just learning how to use the clutch.

I learnt to drive on the road in my dad's brand new 1998 (3rd in NZ) AU XR8 which had been tickled by torque performance.

I learnt in an old Diahatsu Rocky Diseal in the padocks at about 7 years of age. I was double clutching perfectly in it by the age of 10 . I learnt alot of skid control from playing around in the padocks at a young age its any wonder how i didn't roll the thing with ever increasing ego!

Then i always got to borrow Dads good Honda NZ company cars to try out in the paddock as well. High lights of that would be a VTIR prelude super handling, VTIR teg and a lime green del sol which back then i thought was the absolute shiznit with all the windows down and the top off.

My first car for the actually road was a 91 Nissan Caravan 2.7 diseal. I've still got that van after 3 gearbox rebuilds. It was the rally service van. I then stepped up to my old Mugen EK9 8O 8O 8O
