Pussy, you didn't drive an 8 speed roadranger btw, as far as I know there was never an 8 speed. You probably drove a 9 speed but no one ever uses the crawler gear. I'm guessing it was a 6 wheeler?

I dont know shit all about trucks but I'm surprised by how little they cost.
This bad boy is only $25,000! I would have expected it to be way more than that.
Screw buying a bus as a motor home, go the 18wheeler.

I'll try and get some pics over the next few days but we just took delivery of the first of three Scania R500's - 500hp V8 all with the Opticruise box.

They're so unbelievably smooth. The driver has said it's not as quick off the mark as the manual box but much simpler to drive and smooth.
We went for the bigger V8's with our new linehaul trucks so that they don't have to work as hard as our old 420/480's.

The 16 litre V8 Scanias are way ahead of their time, will be greatly underworked and will produce amazing fuel economy. Tare weights will be a fair bit but I'm guessing you guys Cube out before you weigh out?

8/9 speed roadranger is in no way the worst hahaha, unfortunately. The first time I went to pick up the clutch out of one the big (16/18?) speed roadranger boxes at work off the ground, I got a nasty surprise

Best thing about the roadrangers is that when you fuck up they'll just graunch and rattle at you. After a few goes with our 10 speed I managed to at least get a clean range change. Will get a bit more experience over the summer when I do chip.

Yep the roadrangers just need a little dab on the clutch, just enough to disconnect the motor from the box. You can get really lazy and not use the clutch at all but this advances wear somewhat.

Congrats man and well done! I have had my class 4 for a while but keen in getting class 5. I only drive coaches round the place but it's still fun. Even better when you get tips.

The new volvo coaches are all i-shift equipped and the new Scania coaches have the similar sort of setup. Plus they have a full bathroom on board

N series Isuzu NQR500 eh? We have an NKR350 and used to have an NPR450. Great wee trucks but rattly as hell. Apparently its a typical Isuzu thing.

Edit: Tell the boss to put a snorkel on it, having the airfilter where it is just gets stale air and inevtiably fuckloads of dust.

Boooooring, at least it's got the 5.2 litre 170hp motor in it, I can imagine that unloaded it would shift the time space continum or something.

roadrangers actually prefer the clutch to be left alone, they work more smoothly. generally using the clutch on every change with a Roadranger causes the clutch fork to break (depending on which clutch is being used). weve had 3 drivers break clutch forks and thats with a Spicer Twin Plate 1800 Lb.

The Driver trainer at Hiltons told me that neglecting the clutch caused advanced wear in them? Dad doesn't use the clutch on a split shift, usually just comes off power and splits then comes back on power.

Exactly, I had to do a delivery up a nasty ass steep driveway in the driving rain and fog once, didn't help there was horses on the driveway and ruts the size of small ditches. Always good to have new experiences though.

Edit: Got my 4L yesterday, can't wait to get home and drag some timber around the country side.

Luke does make a good point, we got a Case IH Magnum tractor at work now and I have seen houses smaller than that thing. However, thought I'd get a few pics from work (sorry, my phone is all I had on me)
When I arrived Thursday morning -

And when I left tonight
