heaps of room in one of these, main bed is about the size of a king single, also has a fold down bunk, able to stand in the cab with about half a foot of clearance above me, and comes with a woodgrain dash trim

Okay I'm a wee bit jealous.

Is that an 025 phone I spy? I just reinstalled a new Motorola M600 car phone in the newer logger yesterday, now has a cool little privacy handpiece for the drivers

oh sorry
should clarify: its the old alcohol delivery job.
when i started this awesome old fulla steve was running the show. bout a month before i left he stood down and took the vacant dispatching job (lower down the chain) and a new punk from chch came up. matts his name. bout 24. no people management skills to speak of.
so matt starts making stupid changes strait away, ruining a perfectly good system we had running (the drivers pretty much ran the place, sorted our own runs, loaded the trucks etc). he changed who did what run and how the trucks were sent out on the run. first week we lost a major palmy client because he forgot to put the order on the runlist.
anyways fast forward to 2 weeks before i left, and things are bad. drivers heading out with 6 tonne of kegs and cases onboard, by ourselves. our trucks had 8 pallet bays and they were ALWAYS full. ever tried carrying 16 kegs up 2 flights of stairs alone? not cool! that shits a 2 man job. so i handed in my notice. after id done it, the senior class 4 driver handed his in the same afternoon.
now go ahead to the last friday i worked. matt accused me and vasa, another driver, of ripping off a client by not delivering a case of midori melon and 2 bottles of jack. client said they wernt in the 20 odd cases of piss we had just delivered. basically accused me and vasa of stealing, infront of all the other staff. didnt ask for an explination or anything. so i got on the phone to the rep, she went to the client and "found" the missing product sitting ontop of the caes EXACTLY where we said it would be. matt was informed. no appology to either of us. vasa walked off the job then.
come the following monday i did the same. went in on the wednesday, handed back my uniform and access card, told them they cant hold my holiday pay as i only had to give 2 weeks notice, not the 4 they wanted, and my 2 weeks was up, and said the company is going to shit to the managing director
still got the mad reference off steve (old w/hse mgr, now dispatcher) and he txt me today saying that matt had quit
if i can get my car fixed tomorrow morning (not bloody likely) ill head over for a chat and a beer

cliffs:
new boss starts up and changes everything for the worse
alot of stress being put on the drivers
myself and another driver hand in our notice
myself and another driver get accused of theft
accusation proved false, other driver walks
i walk the following monday
new boss quits !

now working average 50 hour week, double the wage, nice gear (as your saw), bugger all stress

So Trucker guys what do you actually have to do to get the baby class 2 license

Manager thinks it would a good idea to have it after driving all the little trucks around

many moons ago that was but i think its like ya car one
scratchie test for learners
pay for restricted
driving test for full

there are plenty of driving schools around you can do it with and they can knock loads of time off it too, from learners to full in like 2 days kinda styles

yeah, scratch test is the same as a car with 8 extra truck related questions, wait 6 months on your learners, then sit a driving test to get your full
