When your driving, dont lean your hand on the gear stick!! It causes wear on the selector fork, or where the selector fork contacts on the dog clutch. How many roadrangers have i pulled apart with the complaint "it keeps jumping out of xx gear" to find badly worn selector fork for that gear? Heeeeeeaps!

I mainly work on big dumpers, (yellow trucks), moxy's in fact, from norway. They are fitted with scania engines, as mentioned before they are pretty good engines. I like the centrifuge oil filter design, all you need to change is a peice of gasket paper! They are fitting with 5 cylinder turbo engines and come in a few different models. Mt26, MT31, MT36, and MT41. The MT36 and MT41 have wheels allot taller than me!
They're bringing out a mt51 next year over here. Dont know how many we will sell, they are too big for most place's haul roads, as are the mt41's. They use the MT41's at orewa on northern gateway. Man i hate getting sent up there to fix them on friday arvos

These things are surprisingly easy to pop out sideways in wet/muddy conditions if you dont have the front diff locked in.

The mt26 and mt31's you can drive on the road but any of the larger models are too wide and heavy!

Oooh thats one of my bad habits in any truck. Would that also cause advanced wear in the Shifter rod bushes? Our Isuzus are so bloody sloppy. Moved a nice new Hino around the yard once and was surprised at how tight everything was compared to ours.

Definitly. Most of the time i just get given the gearbox on a pallet. If i was told to diagnose the probeblem of a gearbox jumping out of gear, that would be the first thing i would check. The gearshift linkage bushes etc. See how much you can move the gearstick with out the gear shit lever at the trans moving! Lol i get about 1 out of 4 transmission's with absolutly nothing wrong with them. It's the shifter/or controll device sometimes. By the time you strip the trans down, and price up bearings etc, ( and clutch disks in an auto) it turns out to be quite a costly procedure! Well compared to a new gear shifter anyway.

Ours are shocking, going into reverse the lever is almost beating the crap out of the centre console. Thankfully in top gear it's not too close to the seat.

Yeah? they seem to be popular over there. You would think they would all have CAT's. We import alot of second hand ones in from north carolina i think the place is called?
The lame thing is, you have to stick the same sized tyres on the back wheels on one side. Like they can be different side to side, but if they are on the same side they have to be the same size. Same amount of tread. The link between the 2 wheels is direct drive with gears, so if you put different sized tyres on, one trys to turn faster than the other and loads the gears up resulting in broken teeths!

road transport forum did a survey and found there was a shortage of over 1,000 truck drivers in the north island, so get your class 5 and pick a job

well i was at the truck wash getting the van cleaned and look what was sitting there, asking me to come have a look...

for sale, 7km on the clock 8)

so i was climbing all over it getting my mack on when the salesman comes over and we started chatting. 15 min, couple handshakes and a whole lot of bullshit later he gives me the fuckin keys 8O
so up i climb and sit down in the couch they call "the command chair" and survey the dash
instant hardon
"start it" he says, so i do
maaaaaan, the thing just cranks over and fires up, needles all flick around and the seat air fills and i adjust everything
"how bout a spin around the block"
*jizzz jizzz squirt moan aaahhhggaggahghjdeokerkle*
so i click the i-drive or whatever man call it into drive and just coast away from the drive like im floating on a cloud. such a fuckin machine to drive too.
so around the block we go, me driving like grandma on her way to sunday bowls cause like fuck i have the 250k or so this thing costs if i stack it, and he says
"open her up mate, push it"
foot down, see you later! thing pulls hard and i mean hard
20min later back to the yard and i park it up and try to hide the massive erection im now sporting

when my lil truck grows up it wants to be one of these fuckin beasts!

and there is the summary of the best day ive had being a truck driver so far
i WANT one!

fuckin ugly piece of shit to fix when they break.... just like Dafs, and Scanias.

Euros own the industry in comfort and technology, maintenance and repair....sell it before you have to..

as soon as i upload some pics off my phone, ill show you guys what happens to a Steelbro Swing-lift when a container is overloaded..for now ill say when we moved the modules, the gap closed up 8O

Had a quick drive in our Logger today, found the roadranger to be quite sloppy but for an old girl like the Isuzu who has just clicked over 1 million km she's doing great
