| Drunken Islander A man and his wife were awakened at 3am by a loud pounding on their door. The man got out of bed, went to the door, opened it and saw a drunken islander standing in the pouring rain. "What the hell do you want?" the angry man asked. "Shcuse me, me no its a late," slurred the islander, "but can you give me a push?" "Are you crazy?" yelled the man. "Not a chance! It's 3 o'clock in the morning and it's pissing down!" Then he slammed the door and went back to bed. "Who was that?" asked the wife "Just some drunken islander asking for a push," he mumbled. "And did you help him dear?" questioned the wife. "No I flippin didn't help him," he yelled,"Its late and raining crazy out there." "All I can say is, you've got a very short memory," snapped the wife."Don't you remember the time you broke down on the way to that golf do of yours and those two kind islanders helped us out? They were nice enough to help you when you needed it - and I think you should help this poor man now. Knowing his wife would keep nagging him until he did what she said, the man got dressed, walked down stairs and went outside in the pouring rain. Unable to see anything in the dark and driving rain, the man called out,"Hey, are you still out there?" "Yesh," came the reply. "Do you still need a push?" the man asked while he stood in the dark saturated. "Yesh please!" "Where are you?" "OVER HERE ON THE SWING." |
