Scott Dixon's Team Mate Dies in Testing Accident

IRL IndyCar Series veteran Tony Renna suffered fatal injuries in a crash during Firestone tire testing Oct. 22 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Renna, 26, from DeLand, Fla., crashed in Turn 3 of the 2.5-mile oval at approximately 9:20 a.m. local time. He was transported via ground to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Tony had just been announced as Scott's team mate for next season.

that is truly sad and it reminds us all once again how dangerous motorsport is. after the crash that kenny brack had a few weeks ago, where he was lucky to be alive, this is a real downer.
And to cap it off i am having a really shitty day besides all this.

i know its really sad and it sucks heaps when someone gets hurt ... or worse and unfortunately in the last little while its happened a few times and it makes me sad
but seriously seeing someone going on about how dangerous motorsport is when i am about to start racing again this week end is a real confidence booster
it is a well known fact that u are more likely to be killed on the way to the race track or going home again than racing on the track
roll cages ... hands up whose got one in their car?
where was possum borne killed ?
the rates of death for race car even all motorsport motorcycles included there is less deaths per car than on the road ... esp in a place like america

R.I.P. Tony.
Does anyone know exactly what happen as there's been nothing on the news about him.
My thoughts also go to Scott, it was not a good way to lose a new team mate.
