Twin loops?

*i have my flame suit on....*

ok, so i have got my new ride, accord SIR T
it has come with a full 2.5" 5zigen exhaust system, with a fireball muffler and the previous owner welded a silencer into it...., so the problemes are it sounds like shit, and it has so much backpressure.... feels worse than factory

so i been looking around, tried a mate at strongs, they dont have any OEM or aftermarket exhausts for CF right now, i would like to cut off the fireball muffler, and fit a twin loop, as i dont want a loud exhaust, its just a cruiser after all....

mugen twin loops are way to expensive new, and nothing has shown up 2nd hand yet, i no xforce make a replica, and i no its not guna give the same power, i have seen them, there bends are square but im not after power, just a nice sound, and quiet!

would the xforce do the job? or is the quality so shit that it will get too loud over time, or just fall apart?

cheers

Re: Twin loops?

Havnt used the X force one but the OBX ones are quite nice not to loud or tinny. $150 shipped from ebay. Only thing bad I can say about the one I used was it started getting heavy with carbon build up and keept breaking the weilds to the exhaust pipe. But Iv also got a jasma muffler thats done the same so its my car.

Re: Twin loops?

I think the obx are definately worth ago, when I got a 2.5" done on what was an already loud dytech muffler, it made it insanely loud and tinny(probably cause cat was gutted too) after I put the obx on its so much quieter I can actually talk to the passenger without having to shout at them.

Re: Twin loops?

when you get twinloops, becareful of their size. there are 2 styles and one of them are longer than the other. so one will fit a civic hatch and one of them will not. If you go to the xforce webiste I think its on there as well. On the photos above by Munky07, The obx one is for the hatch but the xforce one shown on that particular photo willl not fit a hatch as far as I know. you will notice the xforce one shown there is actually a barrel shape not a cylindrical one like obx. I rang xforce when I was hunting for some and they dont have the ones to fit the hatch in nz apparently

Re: Twin loops?

x force twin loops tend to baffle out if u have 1 or no resonators. if u have 2 then its swet even if u thrash ur car. i'm telling this from experience

Re: Twin loops?

I'm thinking of getting this: Honda NZ Age Stock Clearance Sale *TYPE-R ROCKER COVER*. Want to go halves with me for a bling bling Mugen muffler? Price is on the first page. XPLOIT has more pics here: XPLOIT - CL1 - Spent to much, time for spending on the Austin

Re: Twin loops?

I missed meeting David. Was checking the cars, then went to Macca's for a feed. LOL. Will see him and the exhaust system when I get the Type S cams next week. Nah, it won't be nice cutting the bling bling system, but it'll be worth it in the end
